      Sun_2010, Jennifer, icy_mama and SBKS..

Thanks for your continuous understanding and consolation. I truly appreciate it. Especially today.

I was right. The storm hit hard and tempers flared. Exchange of words came in torrents. It was a big fight. I was lucky cos he seemed to almost want to strike me physically. It was bad. The girls were crying. My chubs kept saying, stop daddy (stop shouting) and said mommy's crying.. why is mommy crying.. my poor children.. they didn't need to see all that. 😞

Sun_2010 dearest, I have no nice nails to show you. It was too expensive too do a good gel manicure so I opted for the cheapest one with basic filing, hand cream + finger massage for the experience. Don't think I'd go again anytime soon. Seems not worth the money spent. :moneyflies: The pressure package sign up didn't help either.

Jennifer, no barley water. Just fire and more fire, I'm afraid. I couldn't avoid it. Thank goodness for the children. They helped extinguish the fire with their love for me and for fear too. My poor children.. feel bad abt what they had to witness. It must have been frightening for them. 😞

icy_mama, I'm normally soaked thru too but the hardware is now pretty much quite programmed nicely without the soak function. :rotflmao: The boys were fed before I left and they are fine with solids and fresh milk while waiting for me. In fact, the first thing chubs said was a relieved \"Mommy!\" :please: \"Err, may I have milk pwetty pwease pwease?\"

SBKS, the me time though which I thought I initially quite enjoyed was not worth the aftermath. Like you, I always believe me time does good for the body, mind and soul & I've always been the one encouraging him to have these me time. To run (within neighborhood and event events). I waited for him at the finish line (for a few hours) during one SunDown event in wee hrs of the morning bearing cool isotonic drinks for him n his friend. I encouraged him to pursue photography (he was pretty good at it actually) for aesthetic pleasure and also peace of mind. I encouraged him to join music competitions when I realized his band was pretty good. I just believe in supporting him in the positive things that can act as a breather off from work.

It's ok I didn't get the same support in return but I am happy if he's happy. Today marks the day, I'm officially drained from being the only one giving one-sided support, encouragement and suggestions.

I doubt I would be having any more me time anytime soon, so u guys take care. Take this thread back to how it was supposed to be... the sharing of all our me time. :please: I will continue reading all your sharings and bask in them, share your moments liddat la. Ok? πŸ˜‰

        Hello everyone!

I haven’t posted or visited this forum in a long time because I have been too busy! But I needed to post that I just spent some Me Time at the hair salon. Now my hair swish swish swish macham model lidat (except face and body not model face or body lah).

Me Time is hard to come by because we live overseas and don’t have any family support or housekeeping help. So cannot suka suka go out and do stuff. Must plan in advance, call babysitter etc. etc. But I’m back with the kids for vacation, so have been taking advantage of the grandparents to squeeze in one year’s worth of ME TIME!!!

              buds:
Was let out of the cage.

Squeezed in ME time to :

              > do my hair (cut/wash) after almost two years
              > try a manicure for the first time :yikes: ... didn't know cost that much.
(.... and the lady said, uh u just trimmed your nails issit?) Oops.
              > to try out face mask (later tonight)
              > buy new blusher and lipstick (better throw the ones at home )

Somehow tho, I have this nagging feeling that something is brewing at home. 😞
Glad you managed to squeeze in some Me-Time but sorry to read about what happened after. I guess when you received many calls or SMS while you were out, it really means you are irreplaceable at home. :snuggles:

As for the manicure, I had bare fingernails for many years, save for CNY. It is only a couple of months ago that I started doing them (especially now that DD is almost 4 and is rather independent on some things. No peanut butter! πŸ˜“ ). I like short clean fingernails and don't mind not having them painted. Pedicure is more essential because of my horrible dry dead skin

Continue to take good care of yourself ok? Be it prettifying yourself, watching a movie that you enjoy or snacking on the couch (aiyo, after reading that you sometimes eat maggi noodles, I went to make myself a Nissin Tom yam cup noodles!).

Thank you AuntieM and sleepy! Happy to be back!

Canvas: it’s amazing what a little wash and blow dry can do to one’s hair. I think feel good factor better than manicure!

I totally agree! I used to have regular wash and blow when I was working because I had really bad migraines especially on Sundays πŸ˜‚ . Now migraines not so bad (I must be seriously allergic to work! :rotflmao: ) so I go once in a while and sometimes get a hair treatment as well. But my swish swish moment lasts at most a day before it gets washed out and I wear my flat shapeless hair once again. Lol.

Now to plan my next Me Time escapade...getting ideas from this thread!

I loved going to those \"Auntie salons\" in my neighbourhood. For $12, I received a really good wash and blow, with a strong head and neck massage thrown in. Shiokness.
