BTW, don’t be surprised…
People withdraw for a variety of reasons, despite spending a lot of time and effort to get their kiddo in to the school.
Some get good job offer overseas, some decide that the daily commute is too dreadful, etc etc. -
Thanks stonston! besides this "time consuming" method… any other methods? lol!

For my case, I put dd name into waitlist the very moment when i was ballot out from 2C. The sch waitlist validity period is only 3 months, so if one like me die die must go in....will consistently re-fill the form again and again every 3 months....
What do you mean? if balloted out from 2C, putting on waitilist will have hope? as there are many people putting in the waiting list after the balloting .. including myself.. how do i get a chance to get in ? people around me was telling me, putting in waitlist is as good as \"no use\".. the school will not call.. as based on what criteria??Snowbaby:
Mine successful case was for 2C....a few of us got into this sch as our first choice as we (I saw a few parents on that same day to transfer in) were all balloted out from 2C.
Thus, that is to say, even if you didn't get in in 2C, don't give up hope...there's always light at the end of the tunnel!
or do you mean, after my child enter to another school.. then try to ask for transfer ? how to do that?
For the 1st 3 months, a lots of parents turn up to fill the form but subsequently, parents become lesser and lesser, thus, I can see that the principal only have a handful of them after a few month later.
*Points to note here: from now till sch starts is still a few months down the road, a lot of changes can happen....and I was not called in immediately aft I submit the form....I only received the call in the mid of term 1.
I did call once or twice that's it....didn't even go down to the sch...only send in the form through fax.... -
thanks snowbaby ! shall check the school out instead ! whether there is any "expiry date" for the waitlist ! this works better for me la

Yes, please do so.
NYPS waitlist expire every half a year and Pei Hwa is every 1 year...for my sch is every 3 months...so do check it out.
But some sch do not take in waitlist. Example MGS. They would like you to transfer based on the child SA1 and SA2 results at the end of P1. -
Like to ask those whose kids managed to transfer to their first choice sch say after they started p1,
So u have to buy the new sch uniform, change the whole set of textbooks and exercise books, socks etc…
Do u have to give a reason to the current sch ur withdrawal reason? -

Yes. It should be a happy problem. Textbooks are usually the same. Dun buy too many sets of uniforms then.Like to ask those whose kids managed to transfer to their first choice sch say after they started p1,

To withdraw, you just need to provide a simple reason like \"distance is nearer to home\" etc. -
Hi cherry gal
So only after we receive the good news then inform the current sch, then how soon the child can attend sch will depends on new sch? -
ryes:
No reason was given for my case. In fact, two parents (me and another one) were doing the withdrawal at the same time. I bought all books and 3 sets of uniforms and 2 sets of PE for the previous sch. Most of the books (except for Chinese) are all different but all that won't matter much if u can get into the desired sch, don't u think so!Hi cherry gal

Pchong
Then what did u do with the books?
Your child was transferred halfway mid term?
