It is some comfort. My ds and his friend also says class party preparations for first day EL Oral. How would most p6 know about home econs class, esp boys?
My ds also said it was a class party preparations. So glad to read this.
I am so relieved reading this too. My DS also said it was preparing for a party. I think boys may interpret as party. My DS was very clear it was not a baking class - hahahhah. He was challenging those who interpreted it that way :rotflmao: .
Todays picture was easy to interpret and question was - what do you and your friends do during recess. Quite a lot to talk about
.
Glad the orals are over. We have our Prelims from 20th Aug. So now have to focus back to writing skills . -

This PSLE journey has indeed been a long and tiring one, not only for kids but for parents too. It is not only a test of the knowledge of the kids, it is also a test of their stamina, their stress management and time management skills. Hopefully, this learning experience will help the kids cope better with the even more challenging and demanding secondary school life.
For this year, DS has been very tired with the long hours spent in school for the supplementary classes, followed by the never ending homework. Being his primary source of support, I not only have to help him out with his forever challenging maths and science questions, I have also to be his counsellor and cheerleader. I have to counsel him whenever he faces problems and frustrations in dealing with his teachers and friends. I have to cheer him on whenever he falls and feels like giving up hope. I have also to ensure that he is physically and mentally strong enough to tackle the challenges ahead. Seems that it is never easy being a parent nowadays.
Nevertheless, I am glad I am walking this journey with him, sharing his feelings and understanding his thoughts. The bond has grown stronger and I am able to step into his shoes and think why he displays certain behaviour. I am not sure if he can make it to the school of his choice, since he has never met that cut-off point since P5. But it is indeed encouraging to see him putting in the effort and even sacrificing some of his playtime. All I can say is really “GOOD LUCK”. At the end of the day, all I care is really to have a healthy and happy boy!
I SALUTE all the parents here who give your best support to your kids in every way. Let’s countdown to 1 Oct and celebrate! All the best to all P6 pupils! -

Yeah, got to think on the spot. Quite challenging esp for dd who can't think straight when stressed.
The conversation portion is a bit tricky if the child does not hv any related experience. Really no choice but to make up sth to talk about.Verysuperkiasu:
The thing abt conversation - it's really not fair especially if you have to cook up a story there and then - it's not testing abt oral anymore - it's about quick wittedness to think of an idea or story to talk abt.
For ytd EL conversation - this is exactly what ah boy did - made up a tale. when asked: Have you done sth special for anyone?
Seems like the crux is Sth Special - same for ytd CL conversation.
Anyway, oral's over....one down. Throw aside oral notes,...
Let's gear up for LC and written papers..... -

Today's both CL and EL conversation seemed easier.balletmum:
Chinese oral topic today - recess time.
Conversation - what you do during free time.
I do not think the CL conversation - what you do during free time - is simple for some pupils.
Where got free time? Holidays always bugged with tons of sch work :rotflmao:
After school hours, either supplementary lessons or tuition lessons.
Weekends - enrichment lessons aka swimming, piano, sports, etc
I eat my breakfast in the car on the way to school, eat my lunch in the car on the way to tuition classes, eat my dinner in front of the TV watching the 7pm drama.
Think my only free time is my sleeping hours :rotflmao:
If I said all the above to the examiners, what marks would I get ah
-
I’m sure kids are good at making up stories for their oral. I used to do that when I have nothing to share during oral.
-
PSLE ORAL...OVER :rahrah:
Get out for some fun...recharge batteries! -
