Trying to pre-empt what your mom will say ??

Talking about girls chasing boys, when ah boy was in k2, one of the child care mates told her mother she wants to marry ah boy when she grows up.

Suddenly I am so scared :nailbite: Completely unprepared for this relationship thingy :yikes:

Why previously no thread on this har? ChiefKiasu, Jennifer, BeContented, Janet all have children in secondary, right? No BGR problem ma?
DS in boys' school, so less distraction. But he did comment that with some girls in class is more 'diverse'/'interesting'.

One of his ex-pri classmate did message him frequently in the beginning, but DS hardly response.....so died down liao. Good lah, I prefer that way, less distraction. šŸ˜‰

My DD is out for a friend's party. I allowed her to, so she can take some time off to de-stress. After all the many recreation and play hours she missed out on due to all the hours in school every other day, the mountains of homework and all her personal effort that I can see her put in (intensively) over the past few months when homework didnt already kill her, well, she deserve some ME time.

She was extremely appreciative (cos she thought we'd never agree) and I'm sure she will come back recharged.

She even declared all her homework thingies before she left even when I didn't ask.

I just told her to take care and have fun. :hugs:

She's lucky... Since I have been stalking this thread since page 213 (about there), how did your dd react to you not letting her use the computer?

                    React?

                    Non. šŸ˜„

We never really made the PC a big part of our lives so not getting to supposedly play online games or being on a social network wasn't so much about deprivation or punishment. We do fun stuff together as a family including recreation/outdoor time sometimes even with extended families. As she has tons of stuff to do, she also enjoys doing her own things for relaxation like reading, drawing manga (her recent interest) or just catching up on tv time she has lost out on. Other times she's just happy having girl chats with me over snacks and ice-cream.

We do lend them our gadgets as and when we feel we wanna. They own their own gadgets themselves but no addiction because we know how the brain gets fried easily with electronic games if left on free rein and just didn't see the need to encourage too much PC time cept for schoolwork or checking their emails. We Wii together during the hols and take turns to beat one another at different games. They thanked us for this later on when they understood our best intentions. They concentrate better and they don't require the use of spectacles.

There is more to life than just that screen. So, we live it.

Wow...So much self-discipline. For my school everyone uses social networking sites so it's very hard for me to stop using.
