      dunnoleh:
      pinky88:

The traffic is bad on the opp side of HCI cos' a lot of cars turning into NYGH, NJC, RPS...

Dunnoleh, u make the right choice to drop yr girl at the bus stop outside HCI, faster to walk across the bridge than make a u-turn, the left lanes on the opp r too conjested. Rainy days also ok cos' its a sheltered overhead-bridge.

yes, noticed traffic on NJC side really bad, especially the left lane, also many cars filling up the right lane on HCI side, u-turning into NYGH and NJC.

wonder if this situation is consistent year round? what's the experience of \"senior\" parents taking this route over the last few years? advice appreciated. [/code]

I've lived in the NYGH area for a no. of years now and can say the traffic is bad all year round during the term. Left lane is bad from Linden to Hillcrest and then just before Adam which is partly why I was glad my son didn't want to go to RI cos the turn off to Adam from Dunearn is mostly bad except for the occasional few days. Just to get to NYPS from NYGHS I have to go up to Kheam Hock and to get across to Dunearn from NYPS I'd rather make a big but flowing loop along Jln Haji Alias n Sixth Ave then be stuck along the right lane of Bukit Timah Road. Some days it's smooth and light but those days are fewer and far between.

This morning set out late abit bcos it is Thursday.

Reach Eng Neo at about 7.30am.

But why Eng Neo traffic very slow at 7.30am ? Thought all school start at 7.20am, so should be a breeze. Anyone knows why ? :?

have been following all these postings abt the jams along bukit timah road, (as anticipated),

feel sorri for all goody daddies N mummies
this is partly y i din choose NYGH, otherwise don’t know how many times gal may be booked for late for sch…

think only after the mrt phase, said to be completed by 2015,
then the traffic situation will be eased, by then yr child would have completed yr 6… but what will happen when they start construction???

This morning my boy took a bus at 6.45am and reached NJC around 7.20am. Just like Tue and Wed.

Interestingly, there's no bus lane along Dunearn.

Actually I've only seen a queue along Dunearn for cars going into Hillcrest on Wed. I've not seen on any other days. I usually send my son to school by 7.10am except for yesterday(Thurs) when he reached at 7.30am.

Please don't suggest it !!!!!! Bus lane will worsen the traffic congestion as one lane can't be used for all other vehicles except PURELY for SBS and SMRT buses ... and in no time u will see ERP gantry outside HCI, NYGH etc...there is one now at SCGS ...
