Thanks Doraemo, you’re right…better learn early…will check it out.
Btw, how do you find the coach there? How long has your gal learn swimming from them? Did your gal has the fear of learning to swim without the float? Appreciate some feedback. -
Hi plum-cake/trimum/jacs-place
During the PTC, I remembered seeing tap dancing being offered as an enrichment for P1.
Has anyone received the form yet? My kiddo seems quite keen to join.
Cheers

Hi plum-cake,
sorry to have missed you at PTC,it was getting late...hope to meet up with you the next time round...
Hi Tri-mum,
My dd & ds has been attending swim lessons(& both can do the frog style without board alredi. ds (who just turned 4 in dec last year) started oni about 6 months ago & can do frog style alredi...he loves to do the cannonball at the deep pool. I've kept an eye earlier on but realised that i was wasting my time as both kiddos are in good hands - the coach brings the kids who are 'ready' to the deep pool for their lessons without the swim board...the board is oni used as an indicator to the distance the kids need to cover in the pool...
. The coach contact details are as follows if u want to contact him:
Singapore Elite Athlete's Learning School
Dr Kenneth Soh
Principal Trainer / Coach
Mobile +65 8377 2887 / +65 9772 2563

Uncle Kent (that's how the kids call him) conducts lessons at pools that are at parents' convenience as best as possible. We do ours at bedok swimming pool. We found out much later that he's also the swim coach for Red Swastika. -
Thanks Tri-Mum and plum-cake for the feedback. My kid only came back with the tennis and the swim-for-the-school form. Both in very giam chye condition so I thought she might have misplaced the tapdance form
Maybe should train my girl to be more gentle. She just throws everything into her school bag and by the time she gets home, they are all dog-eared/scrunched up like some unwanted paper. Even her handbook has dog ears and this is only week 2. Wondering if it's just my kid or that it's a common problem.
Her FT must be wondering what we did to the paper :!:
btw, How did your PTC go? I finally had the chance to meet her FT. SHe prefers to communicate via handbook to email, so I guess I would have to be rely on snail-mail and help from all the mummies here .

Hi, I need direction - I know there is a long staircase that leads from St Marg to Plaza Sin...May I know which way shld I go from the school. Shld I follow the one way direction and walk down and which side is the stair case (left or right)?
Hi Ponyo, you can get a pocket A4 plastic clear folder to keep all the letters given by teacher. That's what my gal FT told us to do and my gal has been putting all the letters from teachers into this folder so we don't have to search all over her bag looking out anything fm school.
Hi Snowflake, thanks for the info. I will check it out with them.
This forum is really great  -
Hi Tri mum
been walking up/down the stairs the last 2 days. From Plaza Sing (actually not exactly Plaza Sing but next to the showflat for the condo), there is a flight of steps to 8@Sophia. Take the steps all the way up. You have been warned. It's a long walk and only a small section is sheltered (until the side gate to 8@sophia). Once you reach the top, you will see a colonial bungalow that is now a playschool/nursery/kindy called St Gerard.
Take the left turn and walk all the way down Sophia Road, you will then see St Margaret's on the left hand side.
Going back is the same way (in the opposite direction).
Good exercise but it's easier (especially if you are carrying school bags) to walk down (but less pleasant) all the construction area to where Selegie is. (ie from main gate, turn right and go down the slope, at least no steps to climb).
Cheers
Ponyo
p/s: thanks for the tip about the folder :celebrate: -
Hi Tri mum,
sorry just realised that you are asking for dir from SMPS to PS. In that case, once you come out from main gate, turn left and go straight along mt sophia until you see the playschool. You will pass 1 bungalow and the main entrance to 8@sophia before that. Stairs just next to St Gerard and then it’s steps all the way down.
Happy climbing.
Cheers
Ponyo
