Hi , I think Canli is referring to the Raffles Academy ?not everyone can take right?
Not true. For RI and RGS, you can choose whatever subject combination you like and the school will try its best to accomodate you. Even if you are the ONLY student choosing that particular combination, the school will arrange for you to take it. That's how flexible and accomodating the schools are. And there's no such thing as having to be the top certain percentage to get into a subject. And no quota either.Canli:
If u can be selected, do consider carefully. It is really a good school. Lesser competition, more concentration on yr study. (For RI, RGS, HCI, NGHS ..., students hv to be the top certain % to get into the subjects they like, however, in NUSH, u can choose what u like if yr results reach certain level, no quota limited. Soooooo gooooood.) -

Hmm… no need to be so defensive … the fact is that RI (or RA for that matter ) is .student just don’t have a free choice … there are(Hmm.) ]discriminations(GEP] etc) no matter how you want to put it…
NUSH don’t have special class for GEP .no even special entrance for DSA There are GEP who don’t make it to Round1 or even round 2…There are put together .No distinction .That’s why GEP feel at home in NUSH (not branded). . Same reason why some GEP choose NUSH over RI/RGS (eg my DD 2 years back). They are very happy lot. -

Not being defensive. Merely correcting an incorrect fact raised by Canli which may be misleading to those who do not know better.

Hi
our son will likely begin Y1 in 2014. Wondering if there is PSG in NUS High. Thinking of getting involved. We are returning from overseas. Anyone with similar experiences of resettling their kids back in Singapore? Any tips on good HDB/condo housing near NUS High or CHIJ Bkt Timah? Many thanks. -
of this quote from the Principle. He said NUSH is a test of life, not live of tests... That means a lot.... :snuggles:[/quote]
I love his speech and the overall sense of warmth. Agree with many that the school offers opportunities and the preview is impressive -
:? anyone has any idea what is the schooling hours like? What time it starts and what time it ends? I can't find it anywhere and had forgotten to ask.

Have to be in school by 7:45 am every day.
End time varies each day - different for different classes and for levels. Also depends upon electives / third languages/ CCA taken. Core classes end by 4, I think. But if the child is keen and wants to get involved in , likely the child will leave 6+ most days.

Thank you Sun. DS will be Year 1 2014 in his dream school.

Smarter groups use collaboration tools such as google doc, facebook chats to do group projects at home and during weekend till 1-2 am . Group projects are plentiful and exist y in almost all core subjects and are part and parcels of student life from y1-y4.
