      Dear MCS Mummies,

Can anyone advise what's the schoolbag load for P1? Is it necessary to buy those huge roller bags that I see many primary school students have?

Also, how much $ is given to your gal everyday? What's acceptable given the $ of meals in the canteen?

      Thanks! πŸ˜„

It is compulsory to wear black shoes. If you are looking at affordable black shoes, you may go to Bata shops to buy black shoes. If you are looking at better quality black shoes, you may consider Adidas or Nike black shoes. My husband's preference will be Nike black shoes. He will pay for them of course! :heresmyfish:

        Sembgal,

Your hubby very atas! Hahaha! I bought Neckermann ones! Asked my gal to choose with shoelaces or the velcro, she chose shoelaces! Now must teach her... hahaha! Marymount is ok with both shoelaces and velcro ones?

Both should be fine but Velcro ones would be preferred if the child has yet to master how to tie shoelaces.

My gal will be in P1 next year and I planned to let her take school bus. Anyone has any idea approx. what time will the school bus reach Hougang Ave 10? I am hoping the bus will not be going on a merry-go-round trip. Worried that she will reach home too late.

Felt so good to hear another person tell me that Marymount Convent school is a good school. That person who tells me that is an education provider.

That's so lovely and definitely reassuring! I think our gals are in fabulous hands! πŸ˜„

My daughter studied in school & took PSLE in 2009... she made it to 'All girls' school for sec posting... moved from 3rd best class to 2nd best at P4 streaming..Foundation built by school is solid. It's good school with committed teachers.

Does MCS group their girls according to results only?

Like all Primary school, they do streaming at the end of P4 based on academic result. The so called \"Subject based streaming\" was implemented as a part of changes & i read thro' Circular sent out then. It is no different from than what was done 10 years ago... Still Best class( 35 class size) has all bright students..
