Family upbringing starts from young. My niece is from RGS. She is very smart, well mannered & filial. She is a scholar & currently in SMU.

See some good example of lady who were from NYGS, ex-president Wang Ding Chang 's wife, supporting family, grooming and educating the kids and make them well recognized in the society.


NYGS- more lady like, a good mother, a good wife, a good daughter, more good friends not looking for status, very strong Chinese culture, more be a little too conservative in making decision as more emotion will be coming in.
RGS - good manager, good leader, good PM, must win kind of attitude, western culture, definitely will not get bully in the society.

My sis in law is from NYGS. She is not really a good mother or good wife. She prefers to spend time in office or with her friends. However, her sis who is also from NYGS & currently a school teacher is a good mother & good wife.

Yeah agree but the child needs to have the passion for learning the language to begin with otherwise she may be put off by the rigorous drilling in Chinese that Nygh is famous for.

haha, Glad to see you again. Yes, it has been long time, was busy with work. Our dd is \"suffering\" SIA right, my dd didn't go to sleep till 12.00am last two days for this Chinese SIA, but I think it is good for her

A child's eventual character traits depends greatly on BOTH the schools she/he is enrolled in AND her/his parents.

Recently I heard from someone that if go RGS, child needs to know how to take own notes because school doesn’t give out lots of notes. Otherwise when come to exam period, the file will be so thin with insufficient materials to start revision. Also heard that Nanyang gave excellent notes. So during exam, easier to revise prior work. Is this true?

I think in most top schools, the students are expected to be independent learners. The teachers don’t really teach! Same for the top boys schools. So your child needs to be resourceful and do her own studying. I have friends daughters in both. Many feedback but this is the common one. Maybe NYGH helps a little more but you need to be strong in Chinese, otherwise it will affect your grades.
