Hi joavril - yes thankfully there wasn't any balloting this year for p2c - as 38 places for 38 SCs within 1 km. All the best to you next year!

Still in a big dilemma if I should send my girl to MGS because we live in Tampines at the moment..

Tried driving to and fro and the drive is long.. Wish to know if there are more parents like us in the same situation, how did you cope? Its a tough call to give up MGS for something nearer to us, need a morale booster !

My friend (ftwm) stay in upper changi.

She have 2 girls studying in mgs - one in upper primary, another in lower primary.

On those weekdays when her 2 girls have cca that end around similar time -
Their grandma take mrt to botanic garden mrt station, then take a bus to reach mgs primary school, fetch the 2 girls, then take taxi home together.
But on heavy thunderstorm rainy days, then they take cab to and fro.

However, on those weekdays when her 2 girls have cca that end at different timing (far apart ) :-
Their grandma first fetch the one whose cca end earlier first, go home by taxi.
Their grandfather later then fetch the other one whose cca end much later, also hail a cab back home, to upper changi.
Their retired grandparents don’t drive. My friend said she is very thankful that she got grandparents to help out, since they stay far from mgs.

Any other mgs parents staying far away ?
How do you cope ?

if it's gonna be a long term plan...10 yrs in MGS, should consider relocation

May be 12 long years, all the way to acsi, if pebblez daughter enter mgs "integrated programme" next time.

I got 2 daughters 08 and 12!..

Its going to be 6 + 5 long years…

Relocation is constantly on my mind but I have to plan for the short term first, buying and selling the house would take 2 hands plus the pockets to clap… registration is next year

Hope to hear from mums and pops in the same boat…
