Agree with u, Cyranocrash. Think a lot of parents are still trying for the popular school first to try their luck and leave the new schools as back up. Anyway since this is a new school, the chance of getting in is pretty high. Looks like the notion of every school is a good school still has some way to go. I don't expect it to be successful in the first instance but I believe parent's mindset key to education change.

All the 3 new schools in Sengkang area will have 8 classes. So PLVPS is not \"growing\" in that sense. So far quite happy with the teachers and staff. They have put in a lot of effort. The parent dialogue is starting again. I think the principal Mr Chua is very enthusiastic about what he mentioned last year: to co-create a school together with the parents.

To all the newcomers, welcome to the PLVPS family. Just like what cheesePie had mentioned, we should let our children create history rather than let history take charge of the children' fate.

True. Mindset needs to change. We should stop pushing the school for academic excellence.. hoping to be on the same level with those branded schools which we have mentioned. We are killing our own school this way. We should think bigger and push the school to prepare our sons and daughters for life.. just as what the principal has envisioned. Schools don't just make leaders. What is more important is that they make leaders with great character and values.

Just learnt about something with regard to sending a child to the Student Care Ctr that is within the school compound… and I tot I should share it with fellow parents here.

Was told that while an in-house SCC would be cheaper, parents should also bear in mind that such centres will not operate during school holidays and closure days (such as paper marking days). On the other hand, private SCC vendors are ‘working-parents friendly’ in a sense coz they still operate throughout the school holiday period… much like a childcare centre. Not sure if this applies to all in-house SCC though. But could be a factor for working-parents to consider… esp those who do not have alternative caregiver.
