Don't worry, CHS is not stressful at all, at least not for the first 3 years. My son is still happy go lucky and he doesn't seem stressed at all. Or maybe he is not front the top classes, that's why. Lol.

Someone mentioned her P5 son plays football everyday. Not much homework or supplementary lessons. CHS life is not stressful compare to most schools.

Yup.. Everywhere you go, there will be boys playing soccer.. :slapshead:
Before morning assembly, during recess, after school, even the 10-minutes breaks.. :faint:
And the boys kick the balls not only horizontally, but vertically as well.. :yikes:
Most of the boys have their own balls kept in the lockers (yes, every boy has an individual locker).. πŸ†’

Just a quick question for parents of boys in P5 and P6, do you know how the streaming for P4 boys will be at the end of this year? thanks!

Starting this year (new streaming 'strategy' implemented end of 2012 after SA2 exam), the top 40-42 boys of the cohort (P3 & P4) have been placed in 4-Charity & 5-Charity. The rest are placed randomly in Goodness, Kindness, Patience, Peace & Joy.

                Faithfulness & Gentleness are the GEP classes for P4, P5 & P6.

No change of classes from P5 to P6 for all.

thanks. ds is in P4 this year and will be streamed end of the year. Unfortunately he is not very strong in Chinese and not sure if he will qualify for HCL (understand the cut off point is 70 marks). Guess we will just give it our best shot and see how it goes πŸ™‚

Hi, hope someone cld clarify on my question re schoolbus fare.

I noted that school will close after 8 Nov. In other words, boys taking schoolbus for the month of Nov will only take schoolbus for a week.

Does anyone know whether we still need to pay full month bus fare for Nov ?

If yes, can I opt to send my son to school myself for Nov and not take schoolbus and hence need not pay for Nov bus fare ? (note ; my son’s bus fare is quite hefty at more than $200 per month).

                    thanks for any help !

Hi OJ.. Do you stay very far from CHS? Surprised to hear that you are paying >$200 per month for bus fees..

I paid $115 per month for 2-way trips last few years. I paid for Jan-May and July-Oct (total 9 months per year). I did not pay bus fees for Nov. The 1 week bus service in Nov is usually provided free to the boys, compliments from the bus operator.

hello firefly, thanks for your prompt reply πŸ™‚

Yes I got a rude shock at the bus fare when DS transferred to CHS in P4...I stay in central of SIN, is that considered far ? well, no choice, that is the only convenient way to get DS to school early in the morning...
