Anyway has any comments on their program for primary 1 level? Is it compatible with MOE curriculum? Is lesson fun or is it hectic?

          Hi,
Hope someone who has sent before to answer your question. I am keen to send my eldest son to their p1 study centre too.
If I am not wrong, their focus seems to let the child enjoy the language more than academic results.

            Hi,

My DD (K2 this yr) has been with LWSC English Enrichment for 2 yrs since she was in N2. It has greatly help her to instill language interest esp in reading… and her words recognition has improved too! Most importantly, she told me she like the class too! I must admit that the fees are quite ex but I can see +ve results so far.

She has the discipline to read the 2 books every night on her own and she is enjoying reading so far! I like their system of grading each student individually and move up to next reading level once they felt the child’s reading ability has reached.

              Hi,

Don't know whether you will be reading this post as this was posted 2 yrs back already but anyway I hope you can share with us with regards to the grading system. You have mentioned that each student will move up to the next reading level once the child's reading ability has achieved. I thought all students will be place in the respective classes based on their age level? For eg. age 3 will be N1 & 4 will be N2 etc. What do you mean by this statement? Hope you can share with us.

Or is there any parents with their kids in Lorna Whiston English Enrichment class now? Can share their system of teaching & grading? Thanks!

                Hi,

Seems quite quiet in this thread but doesn’t seems so in their learning centres.
Anybody with their kids in Teacher Rose’s class? How’s the teacher & is she good? Anybody can share?

My child has been in the N1 enrichment class at Parkway for 1 term. He opened up to Teacher Rose and would be quite excited to attend her class on weekends. He loves the 2 books which he borrows from class weekly and jumps on our laps nightly to remind us to read those books with him.

My only concern is that whenever I go to class to wait for him (about 15mins before dismissal), I observed that the lights in the classroom are darken. I realized that the teacher was showing them phonics video (seemingly taken from youtube - because we show my child the same videos on youtube once in a while). :scratchhead:

The question is, does LW has their own inhouse curriculum video? Or is the video watching more of a 'kill-time' thing? (i hope not...)

                    Hi,

May I know besides Teacher Rose, which teachers do you think are good at LW? Please PM me.

                    Thanks!

My girl feli has been attending LW enrichment class since K1.

Now she is in K2 and have found her quite discipline to
take out story books on her own and read. She really enjoys going to LW during weekends and
as I tried out for a year in K1 I discover that she has improve in words and reading.
Now she is in K2 , her reading comprehension and answers to cloze passage has improve a lot
and I am delighted that she is enjoying the languages rather than academics at this young age.
                      Cheers :rahrah:

My girl is in Lorna Whiston since K1 for a year and coming to K2 for next. She enjoyed the class and from Recognising zero words to now she can read Rigby early series now. The school makes the language enjoyable and instill the habit of reading. It was a great school overall and she can read independently now. The Teachers conduct meet the parents session at end of every term and show us her worksheets done in school. The worksheet is passed back at end of every year end. Hope this helps.
