I am also thinking of giving on monthly basis.

But how much you think the kid should bring daily ?

I think $5 a day is enough for Sec school.

I've had to increase his pocket money to S$25/week already bc njc food around S$2 minimum. In my girl's school, food from S$1 upwards so S$20/week still good.

Just increase my DD's pocket money to $25/week, but still seems not enough for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Thinking of increasing to $30/week. I started giving her pocket money weekly since P4 or 5.

                    I think anything between $25 to $30 per week is the \"correct amount\" ...

I’ve just increase ds pocket money from $25/week to $30/week. $25/week left him with nothing at the end of the week cos he spends about $2 for drink and sandwich during recess, about $3 during lunch (that’s $5 liao). On the way back from school, he says sometimes he buys something to eat cos hungry. So from this, definitely $5/day is not enough for him. So starting today, I’ve given $30 for the week and see how it goes.

$6 per day for my Sec One girl. She eats lunch outside since she needs to stay back in school most days. EZ-link top up and all other school related expenses are given separately.
