        hi all,

just came back from BKK, thks for the infomation given earlier.

i booked a tour to Kanchanaburi, it is cheaper to book there than online here in Singapore.

the tour that i booked is at Grand Diamond hotel lobby, cant recall the name, its the first shop (there are a few). let me know if you are keen, i go back and check the nos.

        the iternary as follow:

        0630-pick up from various hotel
        0730-depart from BKKto River Kwai
0930-arrive at River Kwai and visit to War cemetery
        10.00-visit the Jeath musume
10.30-visit the bride over the River Kwai
11.00-leave from the bridge and go to the elephant camp
        12.00-elephant riding and bamboo rafting
        13.30-thai lunch will be served
14.30- arrive at Saiyoknoi Waterfall. free time for personal leisure
        14.50-depart for Tiger temple
        15.20- arrive at Tiger temple
16.20-departure for Tiger temple back to BKK
        19.00-arrive in BKK

        i paid 1800baht for 1 adult and 1600baht for 1 child
i find the price reasonable, met a singapore taking the same tour but he booked in singapore online, he paid more than S$90 and w/o elephant treking and water rafting.

          Hi Chloecube,

Did your children enjoy the trip? I am going in June and can’t decide whether to bring them to Kanchanaburi or the crocodile/elephant show.

for kanchanaburi, be preapred it will be a long journey, from tiger temple back to BKK is at least 3hrs, i bump into one of our tour member the next day, (we travelled in different van back to BKK), he told me he reach his hotel only at 9pm!

if your kids like elephant trekking and tiger (once in a life time experienced), you may opt for this
my kids also wanted to go for the elephant and crocodile show, but time was limited, will bring them there next round.
crocodile show is 600baht from the list i saw

Thanks. It really seems cheaper to book there than online.

YES!!! But ladies will swoon over that place. It is apparel after apparel, floor after floor. I was wondering why the vendors bother selling the same thing over and over again. Kids and your hubs will be bored to tears. The only thing I enjoyed there is the foodcourt at the top floor. Tons of Thai desserts to pig out on 🙂

Go to MBK instead. It's just a few streets away. Lots more variety, including mobile electronics, leather goods, Thai packet foodstuffs, etc. Prices are a little more upmarket, but at least you can get what you want there.
