2. Are there anyone else who will also be applying along in de la salle pri sch? -
Hi!
MJ2009:
Some time in June 2010, the kindergarten/childcare centre where your son is in will distribute booklets (printed by MOE) detailing the primary school education as well as registration dates. That's where you know when registration will start. Generally, P1 registration starts in July.Hi, can I know when and how to know if the P1 registration start? Will all pri sch start their registration at the same date and time?
P1 registration goes by phases. ALL schools follow the same dates and times for all phases.MJ2009:
Based on past years' enrolment, balloting in P2C was carried out for those staying 1-2 km. So, yes, you wll not even get a chance to ballot since you are staying > 2 km from the school.I hope to enrol my older son to KCP which is a distance from my pl (Geylang Bahru) but we are willing to do the travel cos we feel strongly for the school, but we were told that we need to go and put ourselves under \"waiting list\" (missed the PV deadline and not staying within 2km even).
However, whoever told you the existence of \"waiting list\" was certainly misleading you. There is no such thing as \"waiting list\" DURING the registration. You only waitlist your son with a particular school AFTER the whole registration process is over, i.e. your son, by then, should have a place in a school, and you don't want your son to be in that school. However, \"waiting list\" by definition, doesn't guarantee your son will get into the school of your choice. Imagine, if a school has taken in the maximum number of students it could, would it still have places left?MJ2009:
IMHO, I think you should send your son to a school near your house. You can forget about sending him to KCP, unless you move to a place within 1 km from the school, and that your NRIC address will have reflected the new address by June 2010.So, how should I go about the sequence when the registration opens?
Go to the nearest sch and enrol there first? (our nearest sch is St Andrews Jnr & Bendemeer Pri) then head straight to KCP and put under waiting list right after?MJ2009:
No worries! We are all here to learn and exchange pointers. BTW, you haven't reported at the Newbie thread yet, right? Can you please report there? It's the SOP here. Please advise and pardon my ignorance if any

Yes I do sleep at in each property on alternate nites or weekends swap. But come April we are gonna stay put in one and perhaps changing our ICs to the one that has good schools around.
Some schools are very clever. The teachers will ask where the students stay and the truth will be out. Parents found to have falsely declared the address in their NRIC will have the child transferred out. The NRIC address should reflect where u live, unless u sleep alternate nite in each property ?Shimmers:
Thanks verykiasu2010
But the address in my IC is also our property..
We have 2 houses but living in one..we cant possibly have 2 address in our IC so we chose to have our 1st hse printed in our ic..
Some schools are also known to make \"site audit\" to verify, esp the popular schools.
Don't take risk. Don't let the kids learn the wrong lessons too
I too have two properties both within one km of a very popular school but we cannot let our relative use one of the addresses for their kid's registration because that tantamount to false declaration. Teacher's chat with the kids will find out the truth, and will result in kids being transferred out, negative publicity in the press, police investigation etc etc -

Definitely MSHS under phase 2A.
Get your DS a confirmed place before considering your chances of getting into ACPS.
That said, looking at past year balloting history of ACPS, phase 2C balloting is only for those staying within 1km in 3 out of the previous 4 years. So chances of your DS getting into ACPS is really not high.
