Took my LC yesterday (3:41am now, can't sleep)

It was okay. Does that mean that there's a chance that this year's papers might be easy? πŸ˜„

Hi Sspitfire. Would a glass of warm milk help you to sleep?

Don't think too much about the papers. I believe you have studied very hard. You just need to develop routine to keep the momentum and have enough sleep.

I would send you a glass if warm milk if I could but since I can't, try to sleep, ok? :snuggles:

hi sspitfire, hope u have a good rest...like what you have said, maybe it might be easier. at the same time, maybe it can be tougher. Really, we won't know. But what we know is that you have studied really hard for your psle. So just do your best and get the best mark you really want to get.

                all the best!

Will a hard paper mean that the standard deviation is higher or lower? And we should hope for a lower std. deviation or a higher one?

In general, a hard paper means that the SD will be larger. If you are strong student, a higher SD will be in your favour, but have pity on weaker students!

For a difficult paper, SD will be higher and population mean will be lower. For strong students like yourself, it’s advantageous as your (raw score-mean) would have a larger difference compared to one where population mean is higher. The larger SD would mean the effect of each mark lost or gain would be reduced.

Then again, we might have another paper where SD ends up lower which means each mark gained/lost has more effect.

Don’t think too much about it… Focus on your studies so that irregardless SD is higher or lower, your results would still be stellar. Jia you!
