I Can Read - Discussion
-
At last, I see the ICR Activity Workbook in my nephew’s bag.
-
mummyofaa:
Can share the story as I m clueless too, if not allowed to post here, pls PM me thanks ! Is your nephew still continuing with ICR ?
ICR and LCentral internal story I do not want to disclose here but the management or those who own the franchise will know that one brand is being sued and the founders cannot come to Singapore.sembgal:
Hi, I have signed up my girl for TCS at Kovan branch. Any reviews to share for Teacher Pauline ? Thanks in advance !!
My little nephew who is 3 years old is there. He shared that he likes Teacher Pauline. Given his slow to warm up attitude, Teacher Pauline could relate well to children. I have not seen his ICR Teacher Pauline before but I have seen the file and pathetic worksheets. I say it is not worth the money. Told my sister to teach her son by herself but she is clueless about ICR behind the door story with LCentral till I told her. Well, just have to keep reinforcing the phonics concept with the child at home. -
Wait, what’s going on? I am supposed to send my kid to LCentral and are you saying the founders of LCentral cannot come to Singapore??? I know this ICR seems to be suing so many people, did they also sue LCentral?
-
Who sue who ?
Icr sue lcentral, or the other way round ? -
I Can Read curriculum has not been revamped. LCentral curriculum was revamped before. I have both sets of materials and couldn’t tell the difference whether revamped or not, until my friend pointed it out to me and told me more than what I should have known.
If you have the cash to splurge, just send your child to ICR or LCentral.
At least there is a teacher to teach your child if you do not know how to go about teaching your child. -
then any phonics school to recommend
-
Another thread has parents talking about LP and TAS. I think a simple phonics programme is good enough for my son. LCentral seems fine, although the centre is a bit hard to locate. Since they have been revamping their programmes, I guess their writers are still here!

I sign up to KS parents website this morning because I am so angry. Yesterday I got a call from some tout on my mobile phone, asked me to WITHDRAW my son from his English tuition centre and to JOIN I CAN READ tuition centre instead.
When I said I don’t want to do that, they asked me for my email address and contact details! Said they want to give me S$100? Do you think I am so dumb? I called CASE about this, they said it could be phishing, like that time happened to DBS Customers!
The tout sounds like a young kid. Dunno anything about my son, what class he is in, etc. JUST WANT MY PERSONAL DETAILS!
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON? -
