Regarding Chinese Comprehension, are kids supposed to answer the questions in full?


Eg. What is the reason for De Ming to be late for school?
Answer:
De MIng is late for school because…

OR

Because he…

(sorry my Chinese is BAD so cant type in Chinese).
My P2 girl’s teacher wants answers in full but our tutor say it should not be as through her years of teaching it has not been so and also the answers in assessment books are not complete either?

Anyone facing this problem?

From what I understand, it depends on how the question is being phrased.

For eg,
德民为什么上学会迟到？
因为。。。。

德民迟到的原因是什么？
德民迟到的原因是。。。

Many years ago, we were taught to start our answers with ‘Because’ when answering Chinese questions. Not sure what is the guideline now.

Hi, I’m trying to get my kids watch more Mandarin programmes. However given that their time is limited and I don’t want them to watch adult junk on prime time channel 8, does anyone have any good local Mandarin (preferably for kids) production to recommend ? Good if they are available easily, eg. online (xinmsn) or VCD/DVD or even u-know-where.


So far, my collection is only 2 movies ‘Homerun’, ‘I not stupid’.
