      Dawnie:
A word of advice, please do not return your problematic maid to the agent and pass the problem to another household. Buy an air ticket and send her home. It is an easy way out for the maid if we were to send her back to the agent, these maid never learn their lesson.

Agree. There is no advantage of sending maid back to agency as it will cost the employer the same as an budget air ticket. Only the maid and agency benefit. The maid gets to change employer and stay longer. The agency deduct 2 mth salary from the maid and make some more from the transfer. That is why agency always say 'bring them back'.

Helping my brother and mum to shift house today.

Weather so hot and unpacked till wanted to faint.

        Reached home tired and dirty.

Greeting me at my dining table were these:

        Chrysanthemum Tea

        and

Ching Tng (can see the 白木耳, 莲子、百合, 龙眼干, and 薏米?) :

Both prepared by my maid when I was out to 'cool' me down.

Felt so touched and blessed and so come here to ‘晒幸福'......

        THANK GOD...

My maid uses the clothes washing powder to wash toilets. What sort of detergent do you use for toilets?

If you don’t provide other cleaning agents, then she will use whatever is available, I guess. For the toilet bowl, cheap bleach would do the job. Best to leave overnight. then just flush. For the rest of the toilet (sink, tiles, etc) there’s the bathroom cleaner, right? Else I’d mix cheap detergent with bleach. Does the job, too

I ask my maid to use cif and clorox for cleaning toilet. And I caught her using my shower gel to wash my toilet so happen that time i was home. She still lied to me when I asked. Super pissed off. Cant imagine what she do when nobody is at home everyday when both my hb and I went working.

It all boils down to disobedience to employer’s instructions. I just don’t understand why simple instructions cannot be duly followed … both sides will be happy that way.

Anyway, looking at those desserts posted above, it is heart-warming to know that nice maids exist too.

Your maid is quite new with you. I suggest that you give her a chance and tell her again to tell you whenever they want anything.

Having a total of 11 maids, I learned to close both eyes whenever they make minor mistakes. I can't afford to keep on scolding them and keep it in my heart. Life goes on, we need them more than they need us.
