My DS brought back a piece of paper entitled : 中一语特课程(算一科目的分数)。 Anyone here knows what is this all about. My DS says is LEP (chinese), but I thought LEP is part of CSE which starts in year 3. According to him, if you do well in it, it will help in your chinese language marks and vice versa. I would like to know how long do they have to stay on this course (i.e. Year 1 only or throughout the 4 years or ....)? What if they can't cope, can they drop-out?

If you have any details about this, appreciate if you can share it here.

      Thank you.
Anyone knows more about the 课程 by now (I didn't get the paper)? Is it for high ability students in CL or the weak ones? If it is to help students learn more CL and improve CL marks, then the weak ones like my DS (A in CL) should attend. My same concern as JustKP, \"What if they can't cope, can they drop-out?\"
      Thank you!

For ProEd (Sec 1)students taking 3rd Lang on Thurs

I've just called 3rd lang centre in Ghim Moh to check on the status of class transfer and was told that HCI will be changing the RS programme to another day instead. Hence, class transfer is not necessary.

          Hi JustKP,

Is this only for Sec 1 students or all ? My son (Sec 2) attends 3rd lang at Bishan, and he was told to get a transfer form to transfer his 3rd lang to another day.

Sorry for the confusion. THis is meant for Sec 1 ProEd students whose 3rd lang at Ghim Moh clashes with RS programme on Thurs.

I think most of the students took up third language when they first entered HCI, but most of those pupils dropped out from their third language eventually.

Dear all parents & S1 students in Alphelion consortium

Re: De-conflict 3rd Lang & RS on Thursdays for S1
This is an extract of msg received from Aphelion consortium:
                  \"Dear Sec 1 Gentlemen
This concerns Aphelion Project Skills Preparation (PSP). Please read the following message carefully.
                  1. Clash With 3rd Language or MSP Lessons
Some of you may have encountered difficulty in making a swop on the timing of your lessons. After discussion with Mrs Ke, this is what we have decided:
PSP will start promptly at 2pm and end by 2.45pm. This should give those who are affected ample time to travel to your language centre.

For those who are still unable to work within this, you are encouraged to attend the Research Module of another consortium. You can email me at [email protected] to seek help with the arrangements. But make sure that you use this option only after you have exhausted all other alternatives.\"

Therefore the options are, in order of action:
                  1. If u can meet the schedule on Thurs for both PSP and 3rd Lang, don't change anything.

                  2. If you cannot consistently be on time for 3rd Lang on Thurs, pls ask for class transfer from MOELC. Transfer forms are available at MOELC and need to be endorsed by the school before submission.

                  3. If all avenues are exhausted without resolving conflict, please contact Ms. Quah to make arrangements with other consortium for RS.

                    hello fellow parents

I notice from HCI's Website that there's a \"Parents Online Portal\". Has anyone been given any ID/password for login. :?

                    thanks

No, perhaps we will get some info this evening at the symposium.
