Let the young kids relieve much stress from psle ; real challenge souls starts from sec one n make all of them happy endings towards pri level .

Would these โeasyโ papers make it even harder for students that were offered CO from their second choice to make a decision whether or not to accept the offer?

Agree... I am also very touched :grphug: Been feeling that MOE & SEAB have been planning the curriculum & PSLE for the academically inclined ones and totally ignoring the average and poorer ones for too long. I really really hope the manageable papers are here to stay.
So touching I want toilovelaksa:
Yesterday, I was at the playground with my kids. I met the boy whom my kids regularly plays with. I wished him all the very best for his exams and reminded him to sleep early. He beamed and told me 'Auntie, this time I think I can pass'. He is an average performer in school but did badly for his prelims. His family can't afford tuition and he is raised by his grandmother who only speaks dialect.
So I am really very very glad PSLE has not been daunting for many kids.
. My heart always ache for under-privileged pupils. Yes, moe and seab are moving towards the right direction. :salute:
A parent said to our Education Minister, โOur education system is seen in three digits. Each child is known by three digits - his PSLE T-score; each primary school by the PSLE T-scores of its top student; and each secondary school by its PSLE cut-off point!โ This is so sad. Hope tomorrow's paper will also be relatively easy and set the trend for manageable PSLE. Slowly but surely, the mindsets of the kiasu educators and parents will be corrected and they can put emphasis on the right things to develop & nurture our children holistically. Only then, we can start to see a more graceful Singapore. -

Thanks for sharing this great story...many children are struggling in school, not just academically and also emotionally...their self-esteem and confidence always get affected and some are being looked down by their peers as well as their teachers...alot of patience and creativity is required to help these kids and teach them in a way that is required...and these kids are definitely special and they will always be able to grow up, feeling confident that they can do well in school and also in life...i really hope these new trends are here to stay...so children and parents can also remember and be reminded of that there are other good things in all of us, not just the grades we have gotten in schools... my 2 cents...Yesterday, I was at the playground with my kids. No worries. I am just directing at one particular user here only. There are many endearing parents of top pupils here like 25hr mama, zeemimi, etc..
I think parents of top students are pretty 'switched-off', actually.. They won't waste their time & energy worrying about what you've mentioned..firefly38:
Could it be the reverse: parents of top pupils do not want the average pupils to be near their kids results...you get the impact right?
Waiting to be flamed.... :imdrowning:
As for the top students, i believe they always look at what's in front of them.. They are least bothered by what's behind them..
There is no need for you to be a Hero here ! And no need for you to play Sisterhood and Big sister to get support. This is an open discussion, if you dont like the comment, dont read. I agree, it's waste of my time discussing this with people like you!! Arrogant enough? Hahahahha...... -

Can see that you are feeling extremely sore to have lost the bragging rights...

I would guess so. It's not easy to gauge if the child really did well versus the entire cohort which current t score is all about.
