Dear Parents,
Im thinking to enroll my 4 year old girl to Crestar ballet at Thomson Plaza,
are the teachers there good? Or any good ballet near bishan?
Please advise. Thank you. -

If I am not wrong there is no exam for Pre-Primary in SBA. They only do exam starting from Primary grade. There is a selection for the exam, during the selection you need to attend extra coaching class which means twice per week.
In the event during this selection period, if you girl did not get in, you are still encourage to attend the extra coaching class but she won't be doing the exam.
You can call SBA and check with them again. -
how about RAD pre-primary exam in crestar? anyone can review on it and their procedures?

thanks for sharing! can i check if the kid does not have ballet grade 1 cert and only start taking exam from grade 2 to 5 or higher, will it affect her chance when applying dsa?
Yes, u can DSA via Dance to some sec schs...Augmum:
Hi
My daughter is eligible to go for the RAD (Primary) examination. But i have no idea what are the advantages if i were to let her go for it? Heard from another mummy in her ballet school, that there is this DSA thingy.
But what are the schools that accepts ballet for DSA? I am still considering whether to let her go for it.
Hope to get some advise from the mummies here
Thanks in advance.
Esp the All Girls sec sch, such as SCGS n MGS and of coz SOTA which offer this route of DSA....
No sec schs will bother to see the primary cert for RAD....
The prerequisite for DSA via Dance requires at least a Grade 5....
Fyi, most who had gotten in have higher than grade 5...or display exceptional talent in dance....
Very intense competition if u are aiming for the above mentioned schs...
So it doesnt mean that if yr child takes up Ballet will def be successful via Dance DSA....
Btw, there is no Ballet CCA in sec sch....
Will be under International dance, Chinese dance or Modern dance ( depends of which sec schs)....
any idea what kind of schedule for the kids if she is been accepted via dsa? i heard for sota the kid has to stay back mon to fri afternoon for dance.
I think it's juz logicial to submit the highest grade certificate for DSA via Dance domain...
Shdnt have any impact of chance for not having the lower grades, esp like grade 1...
The performance during audtion is more crucial....such as choreograph a dance....
No, i dont have any info on SOTA....
1 thing u may want to take note is that if yr child successfully DSA via Dance...
She has to be with this CCA for the entire 4 yrs....No change is allowed....
And near / during SYF ....practices are very intense, even need to come back during Yr end holidays... -
Hi, my dd is taking ballet Grade 2 and is eligible to take the grade 2 RAD exam. May I know basically is it a must or important to take the exam if we don’t hv the intention for DSA.
I find my dd lack of confidence so thought of letting her take up this exam to boost her self confidence. She is quite reluctant worrying of forgetting the steps, etc. But without taking any exam, I wonder if its worth carrying on even though she will still move up the grade taking her usual lesson. Will there be any different if let’s say she move up to Grade 5 but without any RAD cert for any grade.
Hope to find out more from any parents here, thks. -

My girl is currently at bishan cc moving arts doing ballet.
I decided with them coz of the affordable rates compared to crestar.
Was taken back by their huge coaching fee.
At 4, your girl prob won't do any coaching classes yet but as she progresses coaching classes will be a consideration.
You may call moving arts to find out more.
