Folks, what do you let your DC do at home? Anything they can 'study' in preparation for sec 1 (without our coaching) for headstart?

read, play computer, play ipad, watch tv, disturb siblings, do housework, iron clothes, wash dishes, pack table, wash toilets. etc. πŸ˜‰

i think this is the best time to read. read newspaper, read story books, read magazines.

Mine...hand phone, games, music, messaging, organise outings, cook, iron clothes, guide sister in oral prep, read, read, read, start planning on projects I assigned him, run...

Did tell him to start planning to do some work. Saw him write down among reading up on science and others, to do Chinese past year papers, those he didn't do before psle :rotflmao:[/quote]haha..mine did all the relaxing stuff except housework. We just came back from a short trip and he is doing up a powerpoint Presentation about it ( he assigned himself).
I have thrown away all test papers so he won't have any chance of doing it πŸ˜‰ Thought reading up on science would be interesting πŸ™‚
For some reason, DS has grown very attached to DH (manhood?). DH is away on business trip and DS cannot stop mentioning that he missess daddy...a few times a day! I think DH must have done a great job with him πŸ˜„

I wonder, did any of you read Monica Lim's new book on PSLE? It's called the Good, the Bad and the PSLE. I pre-ordered from her and my DS read it in one shot. He said it's very funny and well written. I think she really described the whole PSLE experience very well. She's one of my favorite bloggers.

HCL compo - for continuous writing, it relates to author being in a hawker centre when suddenly you hear some shouting. Can’t quite remember the topical one.

Oh really?! I'm sooo blur. Thanks for correcting me, lexis. Then it must be this one... It's a situational writing abt lesson learnt after playing a prank on a friend. πŸ™‚

For HCL, DS wrote something about his classmate was always late for school and always seem tire n listless during lessons. Upon learning that his classmate's mother was sick and his classmate need to work part time to pay his mother's medical bills, he decided to help him by sharing with him his packed lunch in school...etc
