Menace@PXXXXTerr:
Wonder how's the social EQ of Rosyth School pupils?
I have a irritating and inconsiderate boy from Rosyth School in my neighbourhood. He just graduated from PSLE this year. Kicking ball at his whim and fancy at any time of the day. The loud bang of the ball against the wall has woken me from my sleep and has caused me much agony and disturbing my work as i work from home. I can even hear them with windows shut with double layer curtains in an enclosed aircon room on the second floor.
This is a quiet neighbourhood. Disrupted only by the loud ball kicking sound against wall. If it's in a HDB estate, he and his family would have been complained. Because it's a landed property, we have no venue to complain and can only suffer and bear with the noise. Had tried speaking to the mother but she's so protective and defensive of her only and youngest son and has since refused to me.
Recently it got even worse. They shifted the piano to the living room. Play and sing at the top of their voices without closing the windows or doors. I can even hear them with my door closed and television on. Imagine how loud is the noise.
This is an Singaporean Indian family. The father is a neuro surgeon (with Raffles Hospital), mother is a teacher i heard. The boy has two elder sisters (one is an undergraduate, the other is probably in high school).
If anyone of you can guess the location of the family from the username, i implore you to help speak and counsel this family on civic mindedness.
So is it true that now rosyth has degraded to be like a neighborhood school? Tts what a lot of friends told me.
The results only good due to the gifted stream. Minus that it is an average school -
TT tan:
Can I ask what is environment like in rosyth? Is it really worth fighting for?
Worth fighting if you stay within 1km. Otherwise, choose elsewhere. Don't waste Phase 2C chance. -

Some told me the school has many .neighborhood kids and they are not as good as they claimed. Hence really hope someone can share how the school is....TT tan:

I live within 1 km -
My kids were from Rosyth n I even did PV to ensure my kids got in although I stay within 1km. I have no complaints about the school and my children got a well rounded education.
Although its a neighbourhood school, I will say the standard (Mainstream) is higher than the normal neighbourhood school.
When my dd (from Mainstream) got her PSLE results, her score could put her as top scorer in other neighbourhood schools, but in Rosyth, she is not even in the top 20.
Pertaining to EQ, I believe all schools have issues of EQ in some children, so I feel its not rite to pass a judgement of poor EQ in Rosythians simply based on 1 student’s behavior.
I am not sure whether the academic standard has dropped now but I shouldn’t think so becos the principal has not changed n she has managed to produce 2 top scorers in Singapore before. -
Hi,
My girl will be in rosyth P1 next year. She will be in class Earnest. Anyone in the same class? It will be nice to know more parents :rahrah: -
Hi. May I know which is the temp/perm location? Ang Mio Kio Ave 5 or Serangoon North Ave 4? When will they shift back to the perm location? Thanks.

Serangoon North ave 4 is the perm location. They are shifting back by year end.

Hi, I was a student from Rosyth and graduated last year. I really like the school and it has given me an all rounded education
there are some amazing teachers in this school who really stretch students. And yes, I do agree that the standards are higher than that of other schools, as my PSLE T-score can be considered one of the highest in some other schools, but not yet the top 30 in Rosyth (non-gep students inclusive). Hope this helps, wish you all the best in enrolling! Feel free to ask any questions and I will try my best to answer

Would like to find out how many classes are in GEP? I heard that only those in gep are better in standard but the rest of classes are made up of neighborhood children , is it really true? People said that if it is not due to gep that unfairly pull up the grades for school, it will not be that popular ?
I disagree but would like to clarify.
Also when they go single session, what are the school hours like? And is it true that teachers don't teach but rely a lot on tuition teachers?
Appreciate your inputs. -

There is an after school care called pro teach in roysth. How is it? Do you have any feedback on whether it is good?My kids were from Rosyth n I even did PV to ensure my kids got in although I stay within 1km. I have no complaints about the school and my children got a well rounded education.
