heard Shichida worst, no make up lesson on PH, somemore they got term break also, same as primary school. so if lesson fall on term break (which every children will gana as term break is usually more than a wk) e.g, in Mar, and Sept there will be no lesson at all.

For June and Dec, they self declare term break for a wk each, so also no lesson.

But do you pay for a fixed number of lessons each term? or by the month?
For Berries it's 12 lessons per term.

I'm not sure about this, it's better to check with the center. I only know that there is no class during CNY week.

shichida - they charges based on per term basis. but no make up lessons if you are not free, if you are sick or if lessons fall on PH… and their school fees are dearer so more… so expensive…

                Hi Sesame246,

Very sorry for the late reply, reason being I don’t come to this website regularly and even if I do come, I don’t go through all the posts/threads. I probably just browse some latest postings and somehow this time I just get "lucky" coming to this old post.

Yes. Creative Horizon teachers are all locals. Most are NIE trained. Children have to sit for some assessment before they decide to take the kid. I have seen them turning away children and don’t feel too good about it. I have seen their worksheets, personally I felt that it is on the "tough" side. (Maybe my expectation and standard is low)

If you are sending your girl to Berries, maybe you would like to pop by Creative Horizon. Just walk in to have a glimpse of the children’s work pasted on the boards in the school. They normally put up all the children’s work for a particular class every week. So it’s not just the best kid’s work but all the kids’ works. Since your girl is in P6, go and look out for the P6 notice board and view the work of the students to decide.

Hi, I’m waiting for Berries @hougang to open up a new class on Tuesdays, 9:30am slot. Currently still on waitlist. They needed 4 to start one and there’re only 2 of us currently(quite like the small class group idea).

                  Anyone keen?

This year, Berries started to not giving make up lessons for those classes that are missed because of public holidays. They close on PH. Since their term fees are based on a 12-week term, this means they do not get any refund for the lessons missed. Instead they incorporate the lesson to be missed in the week before the PH. Is this the practice for all tuition centres in Singapore ?

Doesn’t that mean parents are paying more per lesson if they have a PH in their lesson schedule ?
