The year 3s next year will have to take Sg comparative studies as it is compulsory. For students who do not choose triple humanities, only SCS and another humanity is required.Just2Random:
The system has changed. Now yr 2 students are able to choose whether they want triple humanities/triple science provided they have GPA higher than 3.2. Also, they will be able to choose one humanities (if they don't take triple humanities) from this list: Geography, History, EL lit, CL lit and Bi Cul.
Hi Year 2 parents,
Appreciate if you could share your child's subject combination, please.
Based on Just2Random's post, one can choose either triple humanities or triple science, if GPA is higher than 3.2?
If one takes triple science, one has to choose at least a humanity subject?
Earlier post from another forumer mentioned there is no S'pore & Comparative Studies?
I am just confused.
My concern is this subject combination would affect their choice of subjects at A level.
Thanks. -

Thank you.
What is the more popular choice of subject combinations?
My child is thinking of triple Sc, SCS and Geo. -
Hi,
I am looking at my son’s results and I just couldn’t figure out how to interpret them. They have results for Term 1, Mid-Year Overall, Term 3 and End of Year Overall.
Questions: Is End of Year Overall meant to indicate for the whole year or it’s for Term 3 and I suppose, term 4 as well although it was not shown at all?
If EOY Overall is not the indicative marks for the whole year, how do I compute the overall marks for the whole year?
As there are more than 4 subjects involved, is the GPA still at 4 or higher? How can I compute this?
Tks! -
Dear Parents,
If you are coming out of RVHS into Boon Lay Drive and plan to keep to the right lane to turn into Boon Lay Ave, please do not block the exit when the right lane of Boon Lay Drive is congested. If not, you will be blocking the traffic flow in RV. :slapshead: My suggestion is to turn out and head straight toward those HDB blocks and make a turn out from the HDB roads after passing the junction.
Appreciate your understanding and making driving more enjoyable for everyone. :imcool: -

Good evening,Hi,

Are you referring to the results obtained from the rvhs Ntrix system?
If yes, the the End Of Year overall refers to the your child's result for this year in total. Term 1 weighs 10%, term 2&3 25% each and term 4 (EOYs) 40%. The end of year overall refers to 100%, which means the total calculated from all 4 terms.
GPA is calculated by taking the total of your GPA for 6 subjects and diving by 6.
A1: GPA 4.0
A2: 3.5
B3: 3.0
B4: 2.5
C5: 2.0
C6: 1.5
D7: 1.0
E8: 0.5
F9: 0.0
So for instance, if a student has a total of 1A1, 3A2s, 1B4 and 1 C5, his GPA would be: (1x4) + (3x3.5) + (1x2.5) + (1x2.0) divided by 6= 3.2 (1dp).
Hope this helps
