I agree that it is a waste of time doing the work in class. I switched out of MS. I think the current centre is much better with hands on experiments and also focus on answering techniques and process skills. But materials tend to be pitched at more challenging level.[/quote]

momsobusy, can you share which centre ( science) you mention above?

        Hi Puzz…zzle

Was out of town the past few days. Same centre that I pm you the other day. Tried a few in the past. Sometimes, also depends on our children.

          Hi,

I find the HA classes more serious. The kids are more competitive. Kids being kids are definitely up to mischief but I can see the difference between the HA & A classes. The kids in the HA classes will have to score a min of 80 marks for Eng & Math for their sch paper and 85 for their Sci and they would need to sit for a placement test set by MS for Eng & Math. So the picture is quite clear that the true high achievers will be found in the HA classes. I agree the class is a bit too big but when you compare it to the school class size, the teachers not only have to teach for long hours but they need to attend to administrative duties too.
Basically for MS, you need to get a good teacher and once that hurdle is clear, you are safe.

Yup, true abt finding a good teacher at MS… That is why my dc and me were so disappointed that the teacher had to leave in the middle of the year. The new teacher doesn’t explain as much and hence no homework because all worksheets can be completed in class.

We only started this year and only for 1 subject… So not sure about the other subjects though…

My son will be P6 on next year. Could anyone please advise which one should I choose among "Mindstretcher" , "Stalford", "KRTC" from Angmokio Hub? I want my son to engage with Maths, Science and English. Every kind advise would be very much appreciated

                      Hi,

Has anyone heard of Intuitive Learning Hub at Beauty World Centre?
How’s this tuition centre? I was recommended by one of colleagues about this place.

I sent my daughter for The Learning Lab p5 Math tuition

for the past 2 terms after she scored only 65%
for her mid year exam. I am so disappointed that her recent
SA2 result acrually dropped by more than 10 marks to 53%
I will not continue with TLL which charges $100 per lesson.
