      Hi,

My girl is due to register for P1 next year. We lived in the west area.

My hubby is an old boy from Taonan. If moving to the East is not an option, it is too much a hassle to travel from West to East and vice versa everyday right ?

But are there parents who are doing this ? ie. staying far from the school ?

The other options we have near home would be (under phase 2C):

      1) Fairfield Methodist >1km<2km
      2) Alexandra Pri >2km
      3) Henry Park >1km <2km
      4) New Town Pri <1km (not very keen)
      5) Queenstown Pri >1km <2km (not keen either)

Any suggestions what should we do ?

      TIA!

Hi , I am new to this website. I am currently staying in Bedok and is considering the following school :

        1) Red swastika (within 1km)

        2) temasek primary ( 1-2km)

I would like to be a PV. Any suggestion on which school ?

Really v stressful after reading all the feedback on these ‘hot’ schools .

Help needed on : which school is better ? Which school is tougher to get in ? If I become a PV , what are my chances in getting a place in the school ?

My gal is K1 this year.

Will have to register her for P1 next year.

          Having another boy at toddler.

Am staying at CCK (Nearby Lot 1).
South View is just opp my Father In law’s house
(We are currently staying there too.)

          Which school should I choose?

          1) Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (I used to be in this school)
          2) South View Primary School (My hubby used to be in this school)

            Obviously, South View.

Both your children can study there and near your place, logistic wise makes much better sense than SCGS. Much better for the children too as they will spend much less time travelling (and possible to pop home for lunch before afternoon CCA, etc).

And since your hubby was from there, your DD has priority in registration.

              Hi

Just saw this. May I know who compiled this? Is this league table authoritative?

Cover note too small. Can't see very clearly the variables used to derive the rankings.

I thought so too but my gal is interested in going SCGS but was just thinking abt the distance.

Moreover, it is not 1 year but 6 years or even 10 years.

Since you are old girl from Scgs -

Perhaps let your daughter go Scgs.
Later on, she has a choice. Go for new "ip" pgm, or go affliated "o level" pgm. Also, call up Scgs Sch bus transport service roughly how long is traveling time taken from yr hse to Scgs. Is the traveling time acceptable to you, for the next 10 years. If ok, no issue. Otherwise, shift somewhere in between Scgs and south view.

South view, no doubt a good school, but when come to compare against an affliated primary good school, no fight.

                  Your son -
Can go south view, since his dad (old boy) from there.

This was initially my thought but when I think back was like is it being convenient that is the best for my kids?

                      Haiz ... Tough choice.

Anyway, either school also I need to arrange for student care ard the area.
