hi i am new and my kid is in p3 this year… well, even though i felt no school is perfect but seeing this school transforming from back to worse really "make my heart aches".


the new principal is someone who feels she is on the "higher ground"… my kid has been through a number of unfair treatments in this school and even though you can complained until "cows come home", nobody bothers. We as parents are also afraid that if we complain too much, our kid will be "mark"… but if we don’t complain, our kid suffer in the school with those "so-called" educators who are not only unfair and biased as well. The next level we can bring this to is to their Cluster Superintendent. I wonder these days teachers don’t bother to find out the root cause of the problem and straightaway "blame" the child for it. This is Elias Park.

oh my…was planning to enroll my children in this school since it is nearest. can you elaborate on the unfair treatment please?

oh it started way back in p2 when i "personally" witnessed a P1 teacher (my son was p2 then) scolding my kid until he was in tears in the school hall during childrens’ day celebration. they are queued up in sequence like 1 Honesty followed by 2 Honesty, 1 Loyalty followed by 2 Loyalty and so on. while they were "happily dancing away" (excursion was cancelled during to bad weather, so they had no choice but to "entertained" the kids in the hall), my kid accidentally stepped on the shoe of the P1 boy behind him and the boy’s FT (wow, charged to the boy’s rescue and started scolding and shouting at my kid). by then, i was just a earful away and i didnt immediately went over to ‘rescue’ my boy, instead, i only went over when i saw my kid in tears. i started to shout back at that "educator" for her immoral behavior. we all know, kids are kids, and when they play, they truly ‘let go and have fun’. "accidents" do happened. but for that "educator" to raise her freaking voice at a merely 8 year old is really uncalled for. this clearly remained in my head even after 1 year.


this year, worst. he was scolded by teacher for things that he didnt do. he had a class monitor who is a big bully BUT always get his way. the school did nothing. he had a english teacher who do not like kids to use "good" words in compo (crossed out the word and deduct marks!!). this teacher can outright tell the students - I dont care which tuition/enrichment centre you go to outside BUT i expect you to follow what i teach. what kind of rubbish teacher does this school hv?

last year, his MT teacher was most of the time absent. and always relief teacher who teaches nothing but only give worksheets to do.

i guessed enough is enough. when i thought about my son’s situation in school, i always feel very sad.

With your bad experiences, have you considered transferring your kid out to other school? If not, why?

Yes of cos I hv plans to transfer him out… In the works but many factors to consider as well… Distance is a concern… And my kid is kinda accustom to the sch and his friends as well… Tough decision…

It is indeed not easy to just transfer out but I guess it will only become harder as your kid move up the level. I heard Elias Park is the best pri school in Pasir Ris area. It is unfortunate that the school is not suitable for your kid but I am sure you can find another in the same area.

Oh that is what I heard. I have a relative staying in Pasir Ris and although the kid is not in Elias Park, I was told it is the best in that estate. So which is the best?

Base on the past years registration demand, Elias Park is the 3rd in Pasir Ris.
