Sunday Times $$ section

I know someone who wad featured, and the reality is certainly not as rosy as painted. To me its the correspondent taking a short cut just to submit an article week in week out…
-
This $ section keeps me amused every week.
I worry the younger generation will see them as role models. -
Sunday Times hv a week to file a story, so can u imagine how indiscriminate they hv to get at times?
what so great abt the RGS old sch who became an oil trader...not too inspired by her story and financial mgmt skills -
Maybe next month we will have one about someone who skipped school to become a professional poker player.
-
Are such articles supposed to inspire us to have big dreams?
-
I look at such articles as good in that it shows that it’s not impossible to go a different route from the norm. I find that many feel ‘stuck’ because they assume that it’s no possible to strike out and be different. Whether any individual should follow it really up to the individual as he needs to assess his own capabilities, situation and willingness to be different.
-
I always wondered why those folks want to he featured in the first place. Why tell the world what’s in the coffers?
-
agreed with simkhoo. I do get inspired by reading such articles. Also pick up some money tips on and off…

I feel that such display of wealth creates unrealistic expectations amongst young people who may feel that they should also be owning such condos or cars.
I also wonder why anyone would provide information on their wealth publicly.
