The school bus operator will ask for your pick up and drop down points. They will then collate the info and advise u later. So no need to book in advance. Just focus on the logistic stuff. Quite a number of forms to fill during the orientation.Hi SKGDaddy, my daughter is going to be in Edison, and hi Melody_1030, we have registered her at Little Professor for after-school care too.
Is it advisable for us to secure a place for the school bus before the orientation, or shall we just do all logistic stuff during orientation? -

Any idea how the school allocate the classes? Can check with those ext'g P1 parent. Do your child attend the silent reading programme every morning? Also can we opt out the HCL?
To my best knowledge, the class is allocated randomly. Everyone is required to bring a book to read before the assembly every morning.
When my kid started his P1, there was no HCL. In term 2 or 3, they then divide the Chinese class into 3 groups and sort them according to their proficiency in the language. -

So silent reading is compulsory right? Do we still have to buy the HCL text book in the 1st term? -
Hello all,
I heard my name being called… hahahahhaha.
been out of action for a while… had some issues to take care of.
But now that the letters are out… this forum is active again!
My son got his letter… he will be in 1 Curie. Not sure if it was intended as my daughter is currently in 1 Curie too. As for next year, I’m not really sure. I heard that the same class with follow thru’ to P2… most likely the same teacher. But my daughter also said there will be 2 Hillary next year… so I’m not sure if they will split the class.
Didnt want to bother the school with questions at this point of time as they may be busy planning for the orientation, etc.
Hope to see you all at the orientation soon!!! -
Cyranocrash, welcome back.
U are really the pioneer being 1 in P1 and the other going to join his sister soon. -

The school currently has a learning support program whereby the stronger students will help the weaker student to master reading. U may want to check with the school whether need to buy HCL textbooks now. -

Yepp.. now comes the headache of choosing the student care.Cyranocrash, welcome back.

with both kids in PLVPS, makes more sense to send them to student care while my lil one enters Nursery later part of next year. -
Hopefully we hear some good news about student care service during orientation.
Stay within school compound is always better choice. -

True… but on the other hand… it is also good to expose the child to more friends from other schools by sending him/her to other centres.
Guess there are pros and cons to both. I’m still undecided.
