Do the textbooks get to enjoy the popular card discount?

All textbooks are entitled to 5% member discount in Popular. If you have Maybank Family and Friends credit card, this entitled you to additional 5% cash rebate. If you do not have this Maybank credit card, then it's cheaper to get from school bookshop.

Some of the books under the compulsory section are actually categorised as assessment books. The recommended and optional items are also under assessment books. Hence, getting them from Popular will entitled you 10% member discount. I'm holding off the purchases of these for now, hoping there will be a 20% member discount b4 school opens. πŸ˜“

Overall it's more hassle free to get the whole set from the school bookshop.

Thanks for the information. Will the 20% member discount (normally from the cutout coupon in the pop magazine) inclusive of textbooks? Dont mind waiting if it includes.

Has anyone tried passing the list to Popular staff and getting them to collate the books? Or must we look for the books ourselves?

Can submit book list (all available on sch website) to popular online and then login to select books you want to buy via popular online. Just specify location to collect and that’s it!

Anyone don't mind good condition used P1 books? Please PM me for further discussion.

If I may add, if you also have BOC Shop or OCBC Frank card, and you buy via Popular online, you will get 5.5% rebate (min spend $100) or 6% rebate (min card spent $500), vs Maybank 5% rebate.

Buy min $100 from Popular online gives you further 20% vouchers etc. See their website for more details.
                    Wow...thanks for the update!

Usually there will be textbook station setup whereby you can pass the booklist to the staff and they will help you grab everything. But this yr, i come across 1 outlet that did not setup this station.

Buy from school bookshop is cheaper as need not pay gst. Buy assessment books also got 10% discount.
