Ah, I do control damage by ordering only items on discounts šŸ™‚

Here's another cool website for teaching aids such as charts, incentives etc... http://teachersthemepark.com/product.php?main_cat=Learning_Charts&subcat_1=&subcat_2=&page=4&type=Charts. Recommended by an ex-teacher. They used to carry more things but have scaled down for unknown reasons. But, still worth taking a look.

      Snowpet, sorry to digress...

For the jphonic course u attended in BC, is this a short seminar ie one / two day course ? Is this it expensive?

Feel like attending if not too costly & short course...
        snowpet,

its a 10wk course, once a wk. i tink hv paid close $300 bt it was yrs ago. On and off british council does advertise on paper their courses for parents as well as educator, teach reading is one of it. I remembered enroling the course after reading on the papers.

Nevermind, just treat it as preparation for the buying spree, so that you have somewhere to store the books šŸ˜‰

                        Hello Mummies,

Since I have been reading all the forum post so quietly and never a moment I have came out to \"talk\". šŸ˜‰ And so I might as well start off from here lah.

Thanks to chamonix that I bought the second hand Jolly Phonics Handbook from her after much research. šŸ˜„

To be honest, you do not need to attend the course. By reading the handbooks seriously will do already. The reason I am saying this is because I have attended all their workshops. If you are looking at saving cost, just read and follow the handbook and get the Jolly Jingles Car CD songs will get you started with ease. Occasionally pop down to youtube to confirm the \"sounds\" when you type \"jolly phonics\" for a particulart phonic sounds.

When I am at Sep21, I usually take note of the books and then hop over to Amazon to get those books. Because it is alot more cheaper that way. Sometime the cost is a third of Sep21 is carrying. For SAHM, you might want to consider such option. Of course there are some not viable to get it at Amazon, you need to do your calculation.

For me, I love the Jolly Phonics ALOT :celebrate: And so I bought the whole range and up to Grammar level.

It works for my child. But at the end of the day, it depends on your child's progress. Sometime, I blend in Jolly Phonics and Montessori Phonics, but my main focus is Jolly Phonics. I used Montessori Phonics for more follow up.

You need to be flexible to blend in your methods. But at the end of the day, you need to be focus on what you want to achieve.

                        I hope this helps. šŸ˜‰
