Nevermind, just treat it as preparation for the buying spree, so that you have somewhere to store the books 😉

                Hello Mummies,

Since I have been reading all the forum post so quietly and never a moment I have came out to \"talk\". 😉 And so I might as well start off from here lah.

Thanks to chamonix that I bought the second hand Jolly Phonics Handbook from her after much research. 😄

To be honest, you do not need to attend the course. By reading the handbooks seriously will do already. The reason I am saying this is because I have attended all their workshops. If you are looking at saving cost, just read and follow the handbook and get the Jolly Jingles Car CD songs will get you started with ease. Occasionally pop down to youtube to confirm the \"sounds\" when you type \"jolly phonics\" for a particulart phonic sounds.

When I am at Sep21, I usually take note of the books and then hop over to Amazon to get those books. Because it is alot more cheaper that way. Sometime the cost is a third of Sep21 is carrying. For SAHM, you might want to consider such option. Of course there are some not viable to get it at Amazon, you need to do your calculation.

For me, I love the Jolly Phonics ALOT :celebrate: And so I bought the whole range and up to Grammar level.

It works for my child. But at the end of the day, it depends on your child's progress. Sometime, I blend in Jolly Phonics and Montessori Phonics, but my main focus is Jolly Phonics. I used Montessori Phonics for more follow up.

You need to be flexible to blend in your methods. But at the end of the day, you need to be focus on what you want to achieve.

                I hope this helps. 😉

                    Hi,

I wasted 2 months at Zoo phonics at Siglap centre.

I didn’t like the teacher on the very first day. And true enough my son didn’t like her and she wasn’t very keen to give feedback.

The only thing that i like about zoophonics is its cathy songs.

Overall, i would say no to this school. Nothing much benefited.

You can get it from Sept 21 if you dun want the hassle of
                      getting it online.

This is really a pity. Very sad to hear of schools that have teachers
who lack the passion and motivation to teach despite the training
given to them to inspire children to learn.

Charmaine, i strongly believe that it takes a true educator to deliver
only the best teachings to children, regardless of methodology...
regardless of subjects... a teacher who has the passion to teach will
teach ANYTHING well and beyond, to the best of her abilities for the
benefit of the children under her care.
