Some girls will move to other classes, most of girls are remain the same.
Why some move to other classes, while others remain ?
Based on what criteria - move to other classes ?

dd is in P3 this year. In P2 the class size is about 30 and P3 onwards abt 40 (number of classes in P3 is reduced).. hence there is a need to reshuffle... unlike other school, RGPS really practise non streaming, or rather.. ensuring mixed abilities in each class.
while there is many theories about how the school splits, including ranking and then 1st go 3A, 2nd to 3B and so on, or perhaps the sort in groups of student, one thing remains certain.. on average the classes are similar, ie got mixture of strong students and weak students. Teachers comments are always \"random with average of classes similar\". This remains a mystery and there has not been any official version.

So whichever your dd goes.. it is ok as it did not indicate anything about her abilities. However, only Chinese are streamed into HCL and CL... hopes that helps... btw quite evenly spread, so it wont be \"most remains in the same class\"

My girl will be in P5 next year, does the whole class remain intact during Maths lessons? As far as I know, they only move classes during CL/HCL lessons?

              Pls enlighten. :thankyou:

School bus operator now still in the midst of planning the route, having collated the forms from parents, all over sg.

                2 weeks just before 4 jan 2014 (p1 orientation ) kickstart a brand new year -
School bus driver will give you a call, inform you what time to pick up your child, from hillcrest to mount Sinai.

                FYI
(to parents staying far away from Rgps) -
Normally parents with kids staying far away from the school -
                I was told that normally
Will take small mini van to school.
(Ie. usually max around 12 or 13 seaters)
This is To cut down transport traveling time.
But Sch bus fees to mount Sinai had increased.
In 2016 when return to hillcrest, then back to slightly cheaper.

Did your girls join the mixed class with GEP for HCL in P5? I feel a bit puzzled, as well as worried that they have to choose the HCL mixed class with GEP in order to remain in their assigned class, can't even choose the normal HCL class.

I have not been paying the necessary attention to my girl's Chinese, partly because the Chinese teachers who have taught my girl are always so committed. But out of the 4 subjects, she scored the best in Chinese.

But come P5, with the perceived big jump in E/M/S, and now she is in HCL class with GEP girls, now too sure if I will need to jump in now....
