mom2boys:
Next year P4 will be tougher

Is it so? I always heard that the jump from P2 to P3 is high, whereas the jump from P3 to P4 is easier. (And apparently the jump from P4 to P5 is the one to be feared...)
Anyway, I noticed a drop in my dd's P3 marks (as compared with her P2 marks) and so I hope there won't be a further drop next year.
Anybody have plans to conduct lessons with their kids this school holiday? -

I haven’t been anywhere near popular for last few months…
Scared visiting actually… so attracted by all the new books each year that end up buying a lot…
For science, I already have books spill over from P3. So won’t buy.
Maths, Chinese and English need to buy.
For Maths may be just buy the PSB book by Fabian Ng, school already has onsponge maths. The rest just past year paper. I realized as level go up, the homework increases and not much time to use assessment books.
Chinese need to have a look. Most probably end up with either Casco or Victoria publications books…
For english, definitely need grammar, vocab, S&T, compre ETC…
How about you guys? Prepared your shopping list… -
Speaking of Popular, I missed their Sept sale at Expo. Is there a chance they are going to have another assessment books sale in Nov/Dec?
-
nansk:
Yes. Targeting weakness like grammar, vocab.

Bookfest happening somewhere 13 Dec 13 for a week+ at Suntec... should have promotions going on for assessment books. -

It's good that you have prior experience with an older dd.

For us, the focus will be on Maths - esp. word problems. -

I've been visiting the http://www.bookfestsingapore.com/ web site for months, off and on, but there appears to be no update yet. Called Popular a couple of times and they have no idea, too. -

And the mantra is going to be Reading, reading reading!
I have some maths/science activities planned for him - that would be more fun than work for both of us.
Sigh for one kid reading is work, for the other I have to snatch the book out of her hand. -

Sun, what are you getting them to read for MT? Any good books to recommend?
