Wah... everyone so stress... *sigh* its going to be our first psle too. SA2 havent finish kiasu mum here already worried about psle. my dd's grades dropped a lot this year especially chinese (shdnt have took hcl, seems like it is more stressful), my hubby and I super worried about p6. Any good tutor to recommend?? I know its a bit early but guess all mummies and daddies can relate their stress to mine.

My DD's Chinese grade had also dropped a lot and seems it's difficult to come up... :nailbite:
It's not too early to start.. in fact I would think it's late.... cos language requires some time and effort to move up and takes no effort at all to drop!!!! :imdrowning:

I am a mother of 3 children. The first one already entered his secondary school phrase, the second just finish her psle, the third taking his next year :frustrated: Tiring :faint: my first two's chinese havent been up to standard especially my first ds. His chinese standard is near failing when he was P6. Still remember that year searching for tutor high and low :?: but finally came across one of the better ones. After trying for a mth, I immediately :siam: from the chinese tuition centre and put all my hope on the tutor. (Like I taking psle instead of my child) She is quite experienced and very understandable. My second and third are still having her as their chinese tutor. My first got his psle result that year and recieved an A for chinese. Miracle really happened thankfully. My dd's prelim got an A* for chinese and Merit for HCL. Kiasu mum here is hoping for A* and distinction when the psle results are out. You can pm me for her contacts and more information. Good tutors must be known, experienced mum here knows the anxiety every parent is going through now.
Thanks kiasuFoo for your help. I've got into contact with her and today was my dd's first lesson. It was satisfying and my dd seems to like her.

My DD Math Paper 2 is very weak. I have one to one tutor for her but still no improvement. Next year will be taking PSLE and this will pull down her overall marks cos her other subjects are above average. Can anyone advise what to do during this school holiday. I am planning to go through all the past exam paper correction with her again. Should she continue to do with the exam paper or go for assessment book on a topic by topic revision. She's weak in all area. 😓

If your daughter doesn't understand some particular topics, then it's best to do topic by topic until she gets it. Doing whole papers are for when she is able to cope with many topics at the same time. That's what I believe, but if a child is weak, sometimes you have to accept it. I am having a struggle with my sec school daughter at the moment where we have been doing topic by topic, but she seems to forget old stuff as soon as we teach her new stuff. It's really very exasperating, but we have accepted that if we can get her to pass, that will be a good result for her.

Good morning. My ds is enjoying his hoildays, just came back from camping and now crazy about Chemistry! He is driving my mad with his obsession as he is spending all his time after exam copying Chemistry notes and reading the books! Otherwise, he will be fighting with his dad over ‘plants vs zombies’!

I find it really difficult to make him do some serious works. He has not done well for his Chinese but still pinning on hope that he can make it not too badly eventually. That provided I can force him to revise his works consistently.

Got to start planning now, there is not much time left in fact. 😞

Recently, DS1 introduced a PC game 'Black Shot' to DS2, and they have been hooked on it for the past weeks.. :slapshead:

Watching 'Ender's Game' with my boys at J8 this evening.. Most probably, have dinner at Sakae Sushi (though they prefer Sushi Teh at Thomson Plaza).. 😄
