Should be allowed. GPA3.2 can do 9 subject combi, including the one u mentioned.

          5 compulsory subjects - English, HMT/MT, Math 1, Math 2, Social Studies.

GPA 3.6 & above - Can take 5 additional subjects (Total 10 subjects).

GPA 3.2 & above - Can take 4 additional subjects (Total 9 subjects).

Below GPA 3.2 - Can only take 3 additional subjects (Total 8 subjects).

Subject combination must include at least 1 Humanity (History, Geography, Literature), and only 1 Elective (MEP, AEP, CEP, 3rd Lang). Elective is only applicable to the 9th or 10th subject.

Thank you, naggo -nitemare and firefly.

To offer 3rd Lang in year 3, besides the GPA of at least 3.2, is there any other entry criteria like need to have A or A+ grade for Year 2 3rd Lang subject ?

Anyone has any idea how many classes do they cater for each combination?

Which year is your DS in ? Thot subject combination submission deadline is over ?

3rd Lang is graded like all other subjects (GPA 4.0, 3.6, 3.2...). Don't think there is any minimum criteria for 3rd Lang in Year-3. However, if the child has not been doing well in 3rd Lang, it is advisable to drop it in Year-3, as it may add to the heavy workload expected in Year-3..

                Just my opinion..

My son is in year 1. He wishes to better understand the criteria for his preferred subject combination and work hard for it next year.

there will be talks on subject combi, RA offerings and criteria for pupils and parents early next year.

basically, if your son is aiming for any RA, the first semester's performance is most crucial.

whether he is aiming for 10 or 9 subjects, the overall GPA is crucial. So work on the weak subjects tt are compulsory for GPA calculations. Consistency is key.

all the best and happy hols!
