Sad. But… Let’s look back at our school days. Back then in our circle of friends we have Ramoo, Ali, Ming Soon and Donald. We do not care about their surnames. In the canteen, I share the same table with everyone else… Happily eating my nasi lemak while they eat their Chee Chong Fun and chicken rice and brought-from-home food. In the field we play catching with each other… We hug each other when we score goals. All these activities we do together without looking at surnames or colours of our skin, eyes or even hair.

Let such parents be. They can have such mindsets but once their kids are in school, kids will be kids. Kids are all ‘colour-blind’. And if that is not enough, I have strong faith in our school. Having kids from various backgrounds and also having quite a number of international kids in our school, our kids will be equipped with the good foundation of understanding and embracing people without any discrimination.

Just a guess, maybe the two ladies children have the same surname and if group by surname then they can go same class.

My boy is the smallest in his class during orientation. In fact when Mr Chua saw him some time back and I told him my son is joining next year.. he was shocked.

I got him the Deuter Genuis Bag.. take the S size will do. I brought my daughter's file which she used in Pri 1 to try it on the bag and it fits nicely in the S size.

Just to add.. think Deuter came up with an inproved version.. the Deuter Smart Series. Same price as the Genius.. around $109 if I'm not mistaken.

I saw some were selling firefly bag at canteen during the orientation. How’s this bag ? Any differenc of which bag to get ?

most impt as long as can fit… shld be ok.

factors to consider (rank them as u see fit) :

                    - price
                    - ergo or non ergo (ergo tends to have some form of back support… but ergo bags tend to be heavy)
                    - weight
                    - size
                    - colour
                    - compartments (front pocket, top pocket, water bottle compartment, inside separation, etc)
                    - solid base or soft base (ie, solid base bag is able to stand by itself when placed on the floor)

reason why i chose Deuter this time round is because it is the lightest among the $100 range ergo bags that I’ve seen so far. There are some that may be lighter… but the bags look too boxy… not something that I like.

I bought a more expensive ergo bag for my daughter last year… but I don think it is worth spending that much. This year I’m trying out a bag which has some back support but around $50 from G-market for her. But getting a Deuter for my son… coz psychologically it’s a reputable brand and I want to ensure my son’s back is well taken care of (esp since he is very tiny)… don wan to hinder his growth further… hahahahhahahahahhaha

What about the POPkids School Bag selling at Popular? Thinking of buying one for my boy.
