thinking that future PSLE will not be difficult is just a guess. setting easy exam paper will lead
1. the child and parent into doing more assignment to avoid careless mistake.
2. create a false impression that the child is very good \" mum i got 92 for my SA1 why i still need to do so much assignment\" .
3. create a false impression for the teacher that the class is very good
4. does not inspire the child to challenge himself.
5. critical thinking and visualisation need to learn when they are young.
that does not meant that the questions have to be so difficult that half of the cohort fail the exam. the ex principle had benchmark the national level and request the teachers to set the exam accordingly ;even that is the case , CF is still the weakest among the 5 schools under SHHK clan.
By the way, with the T-score system in PSLE, MOE already manage the standard of the exam. -

you can check with your kids, a lot of full marks in the class, no matter P2, P3, and P4.

If papers are easier, the overall percentage for the 2 top classes is not surprising for me. For P3 next year, the percentage for the 2 top classes is above 87%.

To add on, I meant end of P3, in order to get into the top 2 classes require overall 87%.

basically, if there are too many full mark in the cohort (my number more than 5 ); than the paper is not set accordingly.
during my school time ; my teacher told me :
90% of the cohort need to pass
10% fail
50% get above average
30% get bend 2
10% get bend 1
1% get above 95
those who got full mark need : ability + carefulness
you can check with your kids ; even science got full mark for P3, P4 -

just to let you know; 2013 P2
there is this child pos 3rd/28 in the class : 82%
there is another child 30/32 in another class : 85%
pos in class is just to encourage the child to work harder ; % allow you to know how much need to catch up.
knowing the detail is not to compare our kids ; but allow us to work hand in hand with them so that you will not wait until P5 than you realise that the kids is far behind . -
Level position is a better gauge but unfortunately we won’t get to know from this year onwards. The only thing we know is that if we receive a letter in Dec, it means that our child is within the top 25% in the cohort, good luck to the mummies here. Look out for top 25% position and Good Progress Award!

So is stress to kids coming from the schools or coming from parents?
No wonder tuition centers make tonnes of money…
I hope to see less homework…more projects…and more time for kids to explore other interest…maybe even some new CCA…CF lacks group sports like basketball…netball…
