My DS1 is Yr 2004 born so next year he will go to P!, I havent done the PV for West Grove but I stay within 1 km do you think I should be able to get in? Also my DS1 also like average student so I am worreid about the stress if he can take over there or no.. also heard they stream the students very early!! your feedback will be highly beneficial

Whether you get in or not, really depend on your luck now. My colleague don't think she got the luck, so she decided to sign her daughter up for Xinnan Pri b'cause she's the ex-student of this school. Heard Xinnan now also need ballot. Was thinking whether she can sign up Xinnan as phrase 2B while try West Grove for phase 2C.

My son also a average child. He manage to get to P4 passing all the subjets, so I think there shouldn't be any problem for your DS1. I think most of the time is me that stress and I unconsiuosly pass the stress to him. I've already try to control myself to stay calm not to stress my boy too much :oops:

My boy told me this year the school did not have top 3 classes. So I think there's some changes in the school. This year, there are no CA1 & CA 2 for P1 to P5, only SA1 & SA2. Think they also try not to stress the students to much and do better in SAs.

No doubt that I am happy my boy got into West Grove but what gets me irritated is that everyday he has a few pages of homework to do.

My boy seldom has homeworks. Most of the time on Friday to do during weekends. Only when near exam, then slightly more homework. Last year, I heard from a parent that those at the 1st top class has many homework til one of the boy get so fed-up that he hate to go school. Is your boy also in the top class? Which level is he?

Hi catddy2002, what you do for PV? I just got the PV form. I have filled up the PV form but havent submit as I still thinking.

As my hubby start work at 9am, so he take care of the school gate 3 twice a week in the morning from 6.30 am to 7.20 am, while I will help in ad-hoc events such as mooncake festive, orientation, first 3 days of school etc.

Hii Yippee…my boy in 1J, he can do the homework himself but I rather check it or sit with him to make sure he knows his work.


So far he hasnt complained …he comes home straight after school.

Was just checking the site for the West Grove they dont too much info... what are their school timings? Which are the good CCA etc?

Morning class 7.15 am to 1.25 for Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri, 7.15 am to 12.25 pm for Wed.
Afternoon class I'm not so sure, think it's 12.15 pm to 6.25 pm, Wed 1.15 pm to 6.25 pm.
First 15 min silent reading.

West Grove good in badminton and not easy to get in, too many students wanted to join. My son interested in badminton since P1 but they cannot take in anymore student so not able to get in, even he tried in P2. However, he get to join in P2 b'cause I sign up the coach private class on Sunday. He think he has potential so put my son into school team. The school hired a private coach to teach in their school. Though this coach has left now, my son is still in the school team.

Another strong CCA I think they call 华 乐, playing chinese music instrument. Can't remember what's the name of the instrument. The school send this team for competition.
