        True, the person who conducts a one day workshop for Maths at RI is Ernest Wong and his contact number is 91091506

        My son did this and I found it quite helpful.

        Hi,

        Helpful in what sense, can elaborate ? Able to share with us what's the 'before and after' diff in math score ? I'm sure parents who send their kids to such course are at looking at immediate, tangible benefits.

        A -> A*.

          Very interesting. One day's training can change from A to A*. Not sure if it is the training or that the kid has already been getting high A but missed the star due to carelessness.

          No shortcuts can be learnt in a day. It takes at least \"66\" (that is what the experts say) practices to develop a correct habit so that careless mistakes can be minimised. Furthermore, there are so many \"types\" of correct habits to acquire.

            Not shortcuts but mind approaches, i think? They work on how to approach the \"A*\" challenging questions that set an A grade apart from an A* grade.

              A pre-requiste for a kid to get A* is that he/she must know how to solve every single question in the paper. Maximum allowable tolerance for \"don't know\" is 5 marks. So there is no issue of they not knowing how to solve certain questions. Usually, they miss the A* because of carelessness, especially in reading the question \"wrongly\".

              There are many different types of so call \"challenging\" questions and each type requires a different approach. Personally, while training my own kid, I have classified them into at least 50 basic types. If we breakdown the way to solve questions on shaded area of circles and those on combination of rectangle, triangles' area, sides and ratio, the number of types of approaches will easily cross 100. That is why I was wondering how a kid can acquire all these approaches in a day if he/she has not already possessed them.

              Kids with A* capability can sort out the question type and decide on the correct approach, the moment they read a question. There are certain \"keywords\" in the question that will trigger their thought process. My personal experience finds that it takes an above average kid 2 years (from P5) to acquire such a skill. For those below average, don't even try. It will make them more confused.

                I have heard of these camps too. Did you send your child to all of them or a select few? Do you think a few last ones would still help? My boy is in the High A - A* category - so i thot no harm trying. Your expert advice please 😎
