I wonder why the difference in treatment from the bus operator. I received phone calls from them, not SMS.

I was told that the 2-way transport to school from Sengkang is $90. But because my dd is going to a different location after school ie BASC, an additional $10 is required. For my dd's case, she would be picked up by the big school bus at 6.30am and would probably reach school around 7.05am. Very early but we have no say in this.

I actually received phone call from the operator on Saturday and she got mine mix up. After clarify with her, on Monday I received the SMS with the details and still wrong. Then I called them up and speak to them again.

Mine 2 ways is $155 picking up from Punggol. I asked for a small bus and I found that is very expensive. The pickup time is about 7am and she will reach home at about 3.10pm which is 1 hour later after her school dismissal. I am considering picking my DD from school since the school bus only be home after 3pm.

I find this school bus operator charges are rather expensive. If you take $155 divide by 20 days per month, it’s close to abt $8 a day. If take public transport, am sure it will not exceed $2.

Is it for 2 ways, to and fro ?

If is 2 way - not so ex
Because $155 / 20 days per month = $7.75 per day

But if is 2 way :-
$7.75 / 2 = approx. $4 per trip from yr house to school, another $ 4 back from school to your house, everyday (Monday to Friday)

If yr child take taxi or cab 1 way (either to school or back from school ) -
Will it exceed $4 per trip ?

But if is $155 charged one way -
Yes, a bit ex

Yes, is 2 way. However why i find it expensive is because my DD only reach home after 3pm even if I pay $155 to have a smaller bus. The small bus will still route to compassvale, sengkang area then last to punggol.


I am expecting if I pay $155, my DD should be home before 3pm. As I also found out that the bigger bus charging about $90 and reach punggol area also after 3pm. So what is the difference when I am paying almost double and the time is about the same as the big bus.

I do not have as much details on the bus transport as of now. Only know the bus fare is $115 thru an SMS.


My fren’s daughter, staying in punggol, taking the sch bus this year is paying $100 for 2 ways. So I wonder is there an increase in the bus fare in 2014.

Hope to speak to the bus driver/operator for greater details.

Yes, diff between 1 way and 2 ways only $5 off.
Think it’s quite standard for other sch bus operator. I checked with frens from other pri sch also mentioned diff is $5 off.

I find $155 from punggol- hougang v expv

My nephew sch bus fare from tamp to newton 2 way is $180. At least the distant is longer to justify the px paid.

Babyjan, yes lor. I don't mind paying $155/$150 if my DD reach home before 3pm. I pay so much and yet she still gets to reach home after 3pm.

U staying in punggol right? It’s expv because u asked for the smaller bus. Why dun u enquire the fee if it’s the bigger bus and asked wat time to reach home? But the morning pickup time could be earlier, before 7am.

Babyjan, morning my Hubby will drive her so she don't have to wake up so early. I am prepare to pay that much for the smaller bus but really upset that she still gets to reach home about the same timing with the big bus.
