Came across Philips Airfryer at CK Tang selling at $279/-. Salesperson said the new model (digital) coming out soon and will be retailing at more than $300, hence the Promotional price of $279 now.

It is very easy to operate, just put in frozen nuggets, turn the timer and temperature and there it goes…cooked nuggets in 10 mins. Since my 12 year old daughter has been bugging me to teach her how to cook, we thought might as well get one for her as"Christmas Present". She is loving it and has been cooking the nuggets for her little brother and sister. Since then, she has tried wedges, fries etc. They taste good as long as you eat it hot (same thing applies to fried stuff). My mum even tried baked fish (I think Saba fish), by dusting little oil on the mesh wire. We all agreed the fish tasted good.

I have oven too but I don’t think I will let my daughter operate the oven yet. The good thing is that Airfryer has no waiting time (unlike oven) and it is not too big, ideal for few pieces of snacks if daughter feels hungry in between meals. It is also easy to clean.

My colleague used the airfryer to fry chicken breast. Really amazing when he knock the chicken on his lunchbox, it actually gives off the "tok tok tok" sound. He gave us a piece and it is super rock-liked.

Any suggestions on what to do about that?

I just bought the XL size yesterday for $479/- and have not tried it yet.

Anyone has tips on using like what to put on the basket to enble easy cleaning. If I use aluminium foil to wrap up the fish and chicken and put them in the basket can it cook? and turn brown too ? Advice needed. Forgot to ask the sale staff.

            Hi hi,

I have been using Philips Air Fryer for 1.5 yrs. No regrets, and still exploring ways to cook different dishes. Recently I tried to bake muffins with it, even though I've never bake anything before. It was very easy to use and my muffins taste good.
For easy cleaning, I bought aluminium steam rack from NTUC, the 1 which is in dome shape when it is closed and can be open into a plate size. I put aluminium foil on top of it when I fried frozen food and change the foil when it gets dirty.

As a working mum, this fryer helps to shorten my preparation time for dinner.

Hardly use my Philips Airfryer now. I find it only good for fries, wedges, nuggets and processed frozen chicken/fish pieces. Cannot do fried wantons and spring rolls. The end result is bad.

If you are frying fresh chicken pieces for a party, it takes eons as it can only do up to 4 or 5 pieces at one go. Exasperating! :frustrated:

Try not to use aluminum foil during cooking or baking as it is not safe for your health. Use baking cookie sheets instead.

Thanks for the tips. I too use aluminium foil and try to spray some olive oil on it so that the food do not stick

For baking cookie sheet , do you mean baking paper like tracing paper? Where can I buy this? and can I spray oil on it.

There are some health concerns abt baking sheets as well so pick the right ones.

The coating at the base of the airfryer has peeled off at 3 small spots. I have it for barely a year & only use it to airfry chicken mostly. Why is the material so lousy ah?

a bread toasted in air fryer is nicer than toaster.

I learnt it from the Philips promoter…she did a demo and since then I have been eating toast bread done this way…very easy. set 200 degrees. spread margarine and sprinkle sugar. fold it. toast for 4 min. the bread is perfectly toasted. now can save on kaya toast.
