      My kid’s School bus 2014 p1 & p2 afternoon session (12.50 pm to 6.30 pm)

Is a small mini van, maximum only 11 seaters.
Not those big tour bus type. (30 to 40 seaters)

my school bus pick up route starts from 11.20 am.
School bus reach Rgps (mount Sinai), 12.30 pm.
      Not 12 noon.

Students walk up to school hall for assembly (Monday to Friday), seated by 12.45 pm.
Certain days - read English storybooks. (Silent reading)
Other days - read Chinese storybooks.

for remote places - school normally use small mini van.
2nd mini van - pick up kids staying in Pasir Ris, Punggol.

3rd mini van - pick up kids staying in Changi, East Coast, Tanah Merah, Telok Kurau, Kembangan, Marine Parade, Katong.

4th mini van - pick up kids staying in Ubi, Bedok Reservoir, Eunos.

5th mini van - pick up kids staying in Geylang, Aljunied, Guillemard, Kallang Bahru, Bugis.

6th mini van - pick up kids staying in Tampines.
Tampines is a big housing estate.

So they will generally reach school at about 12.30pm. ok. I have not heard from school bus driver, so I’m trying to work backwards to get a rough guide on what time my girl should finish her lunch and be ready to go downstairs. Hehs…

on that day when you sign up & submit the school bus form -

did you ask your school bus driver where is the first starting point, to pick up kids ?
what time is the starting point ?
After that, where else does the bus travel to, before reaching your house ?

if yours happen to be the starting point - then yours will be early.
but if yours happen to be somewhere in the middle, means school bus will pick up your child later. Better ! lagi best is those that get picked up, towards end of the route.

Aiyah, that day when I submitted the form, the guy behind the table kept saying, they will contact us. He doesn’t know which area is first and last as the driver is still collating the forms bla bla bla. (fair enough. hahaha). If at Hillcrest, I think mine would be the last. Now that it is at Mt Sinai, probably still one of the last few, if not 2nd last. For this year (2013), I noticed that the afternoon session bus reaches my area at 6.45pm (so I reckon my area is the first stop out from Hillcrest (after going through the heavy traffic etc…)).

Ok, at least I don’t have to shift her lunch time forward too much. Heehee…

                phtthp:
                When come p3 -

where school re-shuffle the 30 students into around 40+ students per class (perhaps because some new students have got transferred into rgps, from other outside primary schools as well) -
                How they re-shuffle ?
Do they look purely at end of p2 results (ignore p1 results), or examine both end of (p1 + p2) results combined ?
They reshuffle us in P3 but its not based on your P2 or P1 results. They just randomly reshuffle you with other people, no matter of your results. I have smart people and not so smart people in my P3 class. :xedfingers:

                      Reach home around 7.30 pm

The traffic jam at mount Sinai during peak hour 6.30 pm, is very bad.
(Worse than hillcrest). The road is narrow. Anyway, they let the school buses depart school compound first, before let private cars come in fetch kids home.

                      Timed before.
Even if self drive, need close to an hour to reach home.
Peak hour pan island expressway also bad jam.
This year (2013), when Henry park primary school still occupying mount Sinai premises, I did a test run first. See take how long reach home.

Mount Sinai is good for parents staying nearby ghim moh, holland, Dover, west coast, etc. for me to be honest, I can’t wait for 2 years (2014 and 2015) to be over.

I expect first 3 days reach home late, when school re-open.
Everybody is new to school bus route.

Yeah…I went to Mt.Sinai and I HAD A HARD TIME WALKING FROM THE BUS-STOP TO RGPS.I took at least 15 min to walk and it might be a bit scary for pupils who attend the morning session by walking because around the neighbourhood are just houses and condos. There are so many small roads and they didn’t even put signs that can guide us to RGPS.I also knew that Mt.Sinai is gonna be more jam than Hillcrest because the roads are extremely small and worse of all…HENRY PARK IS QUITE NEAR OUR SCH.It means that we’ll have double the number of school buses and thus, making it more jam.
