For Pri 3 next year, I think the HA (Higher ability) classes are 3 Compassion and 3 Humility as these 2 classes are using Revised Primary English Book 1 (Pri 4) by Preston. The other P3 classes like 3 Gratitude, 3 Zeal, 3 Integrity and 3 Perseverance are using Revised Primary English Introductory (Pri 3) Bk 1 by Preston.

For children entering Pri 1 in 2014, the Math materials differ greatly from children in P1 2013. Children entering Pri 1 in 2014, no longer need the 1A and 1B Math Builder from Shaping Math. They are also not required to buy Pri 1 MCS Problem Sum Package and Pri 1 MCS Heuristic Package.

Is the school lowering the Math standard for children entering Pri 1 in 2014?Surprisingly, the Pri 1 children in 2013 who are going to P2 in 2014 will continue to have their P2 MCS Problem Sum Package and Heuristic Package.

I certainly hope the school maintain the same standard as what they have done for the 2013 Pri 1 children. Shaping Math 3rd edition was only introduced in 2013 and I don’t see the reason why there is such a great difference in terms of Math curriculum in MCS for Pri 1 in Year 2014 as compared to 2013.

Please do not shortchange the children in terms of Mathematics curriculum.

Hi, after adding in those miscellaneous assessment books that were available for purchase, the cost came close to $300. :moneyflies:

The coloured ribbon is to facilitate identification of the class the girls are assigned to. For first 2 weeks, the girls have to put on the coloured ribbon. I almost lost the ribbon as I didn't realize there was a small ribbon attached to a pin in the file.

Parents are allowed in the school canteen for the first day only.

Ler our DDs watch the video : )

I think can pin ribbon anywhere visible on the top part of pinafore, near to name tag.

On Orientation Day, there were 2 teachers in each Pri 1 class. I understood that they may not be the confirmed teachers. I'm wondering if the P2 form teachers for 2013 will be the P1 form teachers in 2014. I understood from a parent that for her DD, the p1 form teacher will follow the class up to P2 level, before the children are regrouped into different classes in P3 with different teachers. I'm thinking if that could be possible? Or maybe the upper primary teachers make special request to transfer to work in afternoon session in 2014 and request to take the Pri 1 class? Wondering who is my dd form teacher??? :?

Hi, any parents from MCS know the P1 pupils need to wear pinafore or PE attire on first day of school? Since the P1 pupils have 4 PE periods in a week, as stated in the Orientation file, they are required to wear 4 days of PE attire and there is no indication on which day to wear pinafore. First day wear pinafore or PE attire?

P1 Term 1 first day report to Marymount Convent primary -

                    wear school uniform.

inside the class, P1 Form teacher(s) will issue pupils timetable.
                    from the timetable :-
parents will be informed which weekday(s) got PE.

                      Hi,
First day should wear pinafore. The form teacher will give them a time table to inform the kids which day to wear PE attire. You can also check what books and items to bring on the first school day from the Orientation File.
