Rebecca Lim was not one of the original 7 princesses, that's why. She rose to stardom due to her own hardwork, opp given by mediacorp and appeal to viewers.
The other 3 princesses not named are Jesseca Liu (who has a breakthru when she was the lead in 揭秘), Dawn Yeoh (who has left mediacorp for TW) and Fiona Xie who was the first to depart? -

Sometimes I wonder whether this is the fault of the actresses' acting skills or the fault of the directors' directing skills. -

Jeanette Aw is over the hill - born in 1979. Her acting has not improved at all.
As for brains, I do agree. No wonder the other 3 princesses without JC+NUS/NTU qualifications must leave. I suspect Mediacorp pays according to highest qualification like a quasi-stat board. Of course there will be commercial perks, public appearance allowances, etc. Income is definitely more stable with CPF and medical welfare, compared to if you're a freelancer touting for jobs in the region... -
I hardly watch local dramas…so cannot comment on their acting.
all I know is our stable of younger actors/actresses have BRAINS…degrees as backups. -
