Good question, ACSI like no rules ;). Read from forum that boys can wear shoes with 70% white.

Just saw the same rule on wikipedia:

Heard about a funny school rule from a SAP school- no transition glasses spectacles. I guess for ACSI, the school let students have a little more freedom to dress like gentlemen.

Haha I can imagine the transition glasses turning black under the sun, a valid rule. SAP schools got all sorts of other funny school rules.

Ds wears transition. No problem in pri sch. I think it makes sense to wear transition glasses in a tropical country like spore. It is more for the protection of eyes than aesthetic purposes.

Any parent of ACSI senior can highlight few school rules that new ACSI boys should be careful of. Thanks in advance.

Frankly speaking, for past 2 years while DS1 was there, i have no recollection of any unique school rules.

Just the usual on punctuality, 70% white shoes, make sure he has his tie and badge when going to school (Good idea to buy a few each to keep as spare).

As a foot note, my DS used his ties in rotation but still has one or two that need to be discarded after 2 years.

And the meet the parents session is usually on the last day of 2nd term, normally is a whole day affair.

So book your leave if you need to.

And booking a time slot before hand to meet a particular teacher is a must if you don’t want to wait for a long long time for your turn.

Best practice is both parents go for the session, split out and each meet a few teaches, that will really save you a lot of waiting time.

I think the most important is to be aware of why the school (which is a mission school) says all its students should be 'scholars, officers and gentlemen'. The idea comes from the Bible — Jeremiah 9:23-24.
Thus says the LORD, \"Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,\" declares the LORD.
So the wise man (scholar) should be kind, the strong man (officer) should be just, and the rich man (gentleman) should be righteous. Too often, scholars are seen to be cutting, officers are seen to be unjust and the wealthy are seen to be wicked. If your son can balance the virtues and the accomplishments like this, he will be a good man. 🙂
