Hi, my dd joined her first choice IP school, Cedar today. An agonising decision for us as she oso qualified for the other two coveted girls' schools.

And yes, I agree with good pa, the students were really warm and frenly. DD met several snrs and frens from her pri sch, so they were all happily chattg away after the principal's talk.

The student leaders are the ones who worked on and carrying out the tasks on orientation days themselves! their good work, creativity, leadership, time spent in ensuring all goes well etc. Neighbour dd is a student leader and she is lovely, polite, simple yet brainy child.
She gave me very good impression of a cedarian. šŸ™‚ So does a friend's dd who did extremely well in psle and has a lovely character šŸ™‚
All the best to the new cedarians. :rahrah:
Maybe my dd will be yr jr, hope she keeps up with her yearly top few position in cohort..

You hv a very smart daughter. Hopefully she will consider Cedar as her first choice when the time comes : )

If there is pe or jogging, u hv to wear the school shorts. Otherwise other shorts are fine. The girls love fbt shorts. Cooling. At this age, most prefer to wear shorts cos they can behave quite at home in school. :rotflmao:

My dd shorts is quite cooling material. Not sure about the new shorts.

Hi, may I kn where can I get these FBT shorts?

They are easily available at sports shops. Fairprice Xtra also sell them.
The school asked dd to submit NAPFA test results for all stations. But my dd sch nvr gave such results slip. Does everyone have or isit only my dd pri sch?

It should be inside the report book.

Hi Zeemimi, thanks for all input. What is this NAPFA results for? And is it advisable for us parents to attend the CCA exhibition day?
The girls' fitness is very impt to cedar. A way for the school to track their fitness level. After all the jogging, a gold at Napfa is not difficult. I'm not sure about the CCA exhibition day. There wasn't one for parents last time. I left it to dd to choose her own cca.

I usu leave the CCA bit to them too. But my girl wants to audition for Badminton, Track, Dance and Soccer (!). I tot if I am given the opportunity, I cld find out more. But I worry she might feel odd if I do go and there are no other parents tagg along.
My older boy was successful into Badminton, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country and even choir. I cldn't help him when he asked as I was clueless.

                    Good pa:
                    daranic:

I am wondering why there is nothing mentioned abt laptop this yr. No need for laptop now? 2 yrs ago during e briefing for my eldest dd, I rem there was a booth for Acer laptop.

No wonder my dd wants an Acer, she must have heard it from the senior šŸ˜‚

Good to select a laptop which is super light if cost is not a factor for consideration. For IP classes, may need to use 3 times a week and for those who walk to mrt stn every day and carry the laptop is no joke.
